Can anyone prove that McDonald's has hurt their children as much as they claim? How do I do know that they are exaggeratting the problem. Remmber, the finger in the chili?
Just call me skepitical when it comes rightous indignation.
That is not the issue (to me). The issue is they misrepresented the ingredients of there product. That is a crime (in the US at least). They should be punished - CRIMINALLY. False advertising, misrepresentation, fraud, consumer endangerment.

This discussion has been going on for 15 pages. We've certainly established what Celiac disease is.

Topix is worldwide. The world is very big. i still believe not everyone in this world know what a Celiac disease is. i believe some people in this world need some detailed explanation. if you don't need my explanation, well, no problem. i am only intending my explanation to those who can not grasp the meaning of Celiac disease right away. ok ?

Yeah, McD's is responsible for all the ills in the world, and everybody should sue. A hundred years ago, no body heard of celiac disease and people ate bread. Who the heck did they sue? Also, gluten does not act like an opiate in the system of a celiac person. It acts in the intestines and prevents the absorption of certain nutrients. I'm gonna sue. GET A LIFE!
You got that one right! Finally someone with some sense

Celiac is a growing problem and is beign diagnosed more often. I was not diagnosed until 20 and I have a friend that was not diagnosed until 40. It causes life long issues, and it is not an exaggeration. Imagien havign a doctor tellign you that everything you have ever eaten has been killign you and everythign that you enjoy eating is no longer good for you. Tell me that you would feel okay about that. McDonalds flat out LIED! They have been hurting people on purpose so that their profits would not hurt. I know that there profits will start to suffer now. It is thought that between 1 out of 350-500 people has celiac. You think any of them will ever eat there again?

Over a billion a day?! You're not even close. Try about 47 million a day world wide.(http://www.mcdonalds.ca/en/aboutus/faq.aspx )

the same kind of people who bitch about french fire ingrediants being unhealthy ..smoke dope ...smoke cigarettes....drink alcohol.

the health nazis are causing our favorite foods to become tasteless..
i tried some mcdonalds fries the other day after years without them...blooooooooooorch! tasteless shit!

first the vegetarians bitched about the use of beef tallow in the fries.....then the health nazis had a go at the world famous fries by removing more flavor....

What? The only thing that has "changed" about the fries is that they're fried in vegetable oil instead of the beef shortening now. It's not a big change, but yes, it's a bit of a difference.

I just stumbled upon this thread while browsing about celiacs as I may have it. I just think the responses here are hilarious.

I keep seeing comments putting blame on overweight people about this issue. They are just completely missing the point. The people are suing because they were obviously lied to (not just by kids that work at mcdonalds, but by the website that announced their fries were gluten free) and because of this lie, their body was further damaged because of their disease. If a person with celiacs disease consumed even the slightest amount of gluten, their body WILL be damaged. Depending on how long the person was gluten-free before consuming the fries, the aftermath could be very painful ranging from migraines to depression.

Again blaming this issue on obese people is plain stupid considering many people with this disease are underweight.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
