Cutting through the obvious and getting to the core, follow the money trail. Thank you for this insight.

What amazes me is there appears to be a system that is being set up demanding everyone be covered regardless of your ability to pay, providing these corporate giants with an even greater strangle hold on America.

And our President has a lot on his plate right now, thank you for reminding us all.

dang Nelson, you're one smart guy, why are you still a democrat? Everything you've said is correct, but you should be hammereing BO for getting us deeper into Veitna..., er, Afghanistan,
and for being a wall st. lacky, and for not standing up for democracy in Honduras, and for putting a doomed half-azzed health care plan out there and not having the balls to take-out rush directly when he wails about "socialism", and for generally being "more of the same" instead of "change".
Want insurance company ghouls out of the health care biz? Want us out of endless wars? Want REAL corporate regulation instead of facilitaion? Want this country to survive? Leave the dems and become a Green or other third party member, it's our only hope for change, to kill the two political parties that got us into this mess and to replace them with something better.

Thanks for 'doing the math'. We have the most expensive, least effective government money can buy.

The guest commentary by Cal Carson Tuesday the 2nd spoke of his fear of the media spinning President Obama's words, and the personality cult surrounding him as a threat to this country . A threat similar to the regimes of people like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. Mr. Carson then proceeds to quote Obama using words he never said. Mr. Carson put quotation marks around "America is a Muslim nation" attributing it to Obama. Obama has NEVER said those words, this is easily checked on the Internet. The complete text of the speech in question is available at: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/200 ...
Seems the media is not the only one doing spin. Check what you state for truthfulness before sending articles to be printed in public forums. It's disappointing the Record-Bee printed this trash.

What Mr. Obama said was, "America is not a Christian nation," ignoring The Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution which clearly point to Christian roots while avoiding the creation of a religious state. However, what is Mr. Obama saying? He he inching his way to a Muslim state? Or, a godless nation, totally socialist in the traditions he learned on the lap of Frank Marshall Davis, Hawaii's leading Communist, or Saul Alinski, Chicago's leading Communist, Bill Ayers and Bernardette Dorhn, America haters, Jeremiah Wright, America hater or Presidential ventriloquist David Axelrod? Take your pick.

<quoted text>
as a political movement effect-wise the greens are a joke, but on a basic values level I haven't seen anything better. We'd have a realistic plan for foreign affairs, health care, consumer rights, civil rights and long term survival on this planet if the greens were running the show, they couldn't do worse than the sellouts doing it now.

The Presidency of George W. Bush has come to a close.  History will conclude that the defining element of his administration was not Iraq or tax cuts, but lies and contempt for the democratic process.  We are still discovering the extent of the lies, such as the discovery that the President ordered the CIA to fabricate evidence to support a war against Iraq and suppress evidence that Iraq did not possess weapons of mass destruction or that the NSA targeted journalists and monitored their communications (the NSA was a frequent visitor to this site as well).  Which is why I believe Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (of the great state of  Rhode Island) hit the nail on the head when he said:?
the irresponsibility and mismanagement of this Administration will go down in our history as among the darkest moments our government has witnessed. It rots the very fiber of democracy when our government is put to these uses. We do not yet know all the damage that has been done.?
It is precisely because of the fact that we do not know the damage that has been done that Nicholas Kristof is right in calling for a Truth Commission.

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Sagittarius

As much as the robust Archer would like to indulge, today you must mind your health. If you go out to celebrate the holidays, go easy on the rich foods and spirits. Too much alcohol and you might find yourself saying the absolute wrong thing to the right person, thus blowing what could be a perfectly lovely evening. Strive for moderation.
