It's was interesting to find dozens of smokeasys just in the Los Angeles Area of California on just one blog. There are undoubtedly many more. And this is a State that threatens fines of up thousands of dollars for a bar violating the ban. It's been over 11 years since California passed its' ban and smokeasys are still alive and well. If these bans are "so popular", how come smokeasys exist by the thousands all over Western Europe and North America? How come so few people report "violations"? How come health departments have to PAY people to hunt for and report violations?

People, Forget about Hawaii; spend your vacation money in the Bahamas. As smoking in paradise goes - Nassau and throughout the Bahamas - it's not only beautiful, but it's like stepping back in time to the 1980's. People simply use common sense and are polite. You can smoke just about anywhere. You would simply use your own disgression as to when you shouldn't light up - if most anyone were to really mind or care anyway. No finaticism. No neuroticism. None of the current insufferable stance of Hawaii. If Hawaii wants to go broke and starve in some government mandated smoke free part of the tropics, fine - there will still be enough scattered anti-smoker tourists going over there to keep them gasping. Let the far more reasonable Bahamas flourish and live in a happiness and prosperity that Hawaii used to have, in reward for their good, sensible attitude ~ Have a beautiful vacation :)

BTW, I'm hoping my above post is a helpful tip to both non-smokers and smokers alike; as it continues to become more recognizable through these chat threads, the noticeable difference between a non-smoker, and an anti-smoker. Again, have a beautiful vacation!

Of course I smoke cigars or pipes around my smoking buddies...I like to enjoy myself...not be subjected to endless complaining, moaning and groaning...from the likes of you. People like you just need to get out of other peoples business and their lives. Just like the Federal Government needs to get out of our lives. Do not need nosey neighbors or big brother peering over my shoulder telling me to wear a seat belt in my car, not to smoke, etc in order to "protect" me. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!!!
