Gee, now that people are dying, the Department of Health is thinking about doing something, maybe, NOT!!!! They are probably on a trip investigating flu in other countries and will get back to us soon. Don't count on it.

How the Department of Health plans to spend the $1.5 million -- salary increases, trips to Vegas, expensive meals with doctors, refurbish their offices, new staff SUVs, big screen TVs and Blu-Ray Disk Players, hair appointments, coffee, and snacks, lots of snacks. All gone.

I agree that in Hawaii, such money will be WASTED by BUREAUCRATS and used for campaign kick-backs to Ambercrumbie.

The Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management announced recently a major plan to SPEED UP Federal telework
programs, allowing tens-of-thousands of Federal employees nationwide to STAY HOME and WORK FROM HOME in SAFETY.

Telework programs have long been part of Federal "Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plans", as they can be implemented QUICKLY during a national health or weather emergency.

Oahu's City and State government are NOT READY to SURVIVE a LONG TERM emergency because they have NO COOP to keep regular government services operating.

This because the Hawaii UNIONS are against using Telework and Telecommuting-unlike most other US States and the Federal Govt.

An EMERGENCY PLAN is NOT the same thing as a flexible COOP which would allow local govt. employees to work from home,
or at local Telework Centers- where they would be much safer and close to their children- while still MAINTAINING necessary government services.

Many other US States, like the FEDS, have long-term Continuity of Operations
(COOP) Plans.

Hawaii Govt. DOES NOT have any COOP Telework survival plan!

It's absurd to report 722 cases of H1N1, when virtually every health provider and DOH have ceased even testing for it over a month ago. The flu is rampant throughout the kids summer programs, the PR is devastating our travel numbers, and what has Sarah Park or anyone else in Hawaii gov't done about it? Zilch. No quartantine programs, not even monitoring for it anymore.

Why not test it on the politicians first before using it on the general public...afterall that's part of being in "leadership" roles, isn't it?
