I remember reading this a few years back about KU and I had an instant respect for KU because my ex-husband and I managed a lawn mowing business for over ten years. It was very successful but very hard work mowing lawn after lawn all day long in very hot conditions. i just bought a tray of grass cuttings to fill all the little gaps in my lawn. also some lawn food!! yum!

i googled AW some time back and got a greek company designing wedding dresses with the exact same name. would have been funny for them to suddenly get a whole load of unexpected hits!
there is a parallel to the KU name under contest in another thread

Hi Lauren,
In me and my husband's families there is a mixture of short and tall ... Yes, and some of the females are taller than then some of the males ... Although that has little relevance to anything really ...
It's in the perception that more means better, and in others, it means the harder they fall ... Or short people need to grow up a peg or two ... Also, the terminolgies ie., short-arse = loud mouth or tall streak = misery gutted ...
Could just be our society who has grown judgemental by needing to pidgeon-hole everything into categories in some belief we all need to be controlled, by boxing everyone with the same height and looks together because they possbibly think two "wrongs" can't make a "right" ... When in fact there is much more than meets the eye, because don't opposites attract ???
In this week's Australia's Women's Day is a wedding pic of Aussie high board diver, Loudy Tourky 147cm with her new hubby AFL player, Simon Wiggins 187cm ... To some it may look like a total misfit of heights at least, but that may just be perspective gone wrong ... They are probably perfectly matched, and who are we to determine that ...
Perhaps it's just the romantic in me, but I like to think they'll make it, just like Keith and Nicole ... Because the other option is to look at them with a totally negative objective ...
That does me and them no good really ...
Welcome Lauren ... Colleen from Oz ...

ihave a gorgeous boyfriend who I love and who is shorter than me, but to be honest, i like how it feels physically with a man taller than me - i like to tuck in under his shoulder, rather than the other way around.
but it makes no difference in terms of that persons soul and spirit.
tho, being tall myself, short men always feel the need to exert irrational power to make up for their ego issues and can often act ugly - i hate that as there is nothing I can do about it!!!!
PEACE

I work with another female of the same hieght and watch her getting around and I say to myself "geez she is tall" than I realise I am the same height. He he he. If I find a male attractive but then realise i am taller I do step back because I would love to wear high heels and not be towering over my date. Truth

I'm 5 foot 8 and a half inches - not sure what that is in cm's. If I wear heels I am over 6 foot!!! It's an amazing feeling and when i do put them on I often think what it must be like to be Nicole on those skyscrapers - it is a really really sexy feeling - I love it - and it's fun around the house - tee hee, nudge nudge, wink wink. but, all my life, being above average like yourself, i always felt like the geek [like NK says she does - and in fact why Baz said he cast her in MR] and also a whole head height 'out of the conversation' of everyone around me. Maybe that's why I feel strongly about exclusivity in conversations, clubs, parties, etc. It actually makes my heart flutter [as I see is happening with you now in the George Miller thread - I keep out, but I know how it feels - put on your thick hide]... I am very very happy now to be tall - it's fabulous [a lot of NK's power is her height - she said so herself]- tho you [i actually] have huge hassles with shorter men who want what you have [and not just your height] and throw their dummies out the cot if they don't get it - usually heading to the bosom of their wives - tall or short ... now I'm in a loop - seeya LOVE

please, my last comment is in no way associated with the height difference between NK and KU. I have NO problem with that nor is it my place to have a problem with it. My favourite pic of them is on their honeymoon - standing on a dune - she has her arms around his neck - they are laughing at each other and he is taking the photo as if a third person taking of them - really cute - made me think of his song then:'making memories of us!'
I LOVE Bora Bora-like places. Spent six months in the Maldives on a yacht - where TomKat honeymooned!
In all my years in Oz, I can't believe I never made it to Fiji!! I got to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, but never made it to the reef. I think I'm saving it. Perhaps for my honeymoon with the gorgeous man in Melbourne who captured my heart nearly 20 years ago!!

i remember NK said [at the time of her marriage to TC, or after Lenny, that she loved men who were comfortable with taller women. She is attracted to men who have personal power, as I see it.
good taste!
altho some now believe otherwise re Tom.
I think people really are a little rough on him at the end of the day....these days. [I loved his look best when he did Dracula].
I remember in Melbourne in the 80's when NK first met Tom; they did an ad in Oz for New Zealand lamb and they showed a TC lookalike inviting a NK lookalike out on a date, but when she discovers mom is making lamb, she refuses him. It was sweet and was the beginning of that they at the time called "Tom and Noc9ole's Big Adventure" - that was when they were filming Far and Away - since then I have been following her fortunes and resonating with many aspects of her - things I like and things I don't like.
ciao bella :)

I am well by the way, I am looking forward to going to university to do an Associate Degree in Learning Management which means become a teacher. I also work with students with special needs (intellectually challenged and emotionally disturbed)very challenging but I love every minute. So my degree is the beginning of a long study to be in Special Education. What can I say I AM VERY EXCITED!I will start in the beginning of March. How are you and how is your fight for your home going? All the Best Truth

I never asked, but where in Oz are you and which Uni will you be going to? Since qualifying as a counsellor about 4 years ago [yes, one's brain can still manage that in ones' late 40's - LOL] I have only worked altruistically -whilst very generous, i feel it is a further form of 'fieldwork'. I feel that quite possibly i may end up working again in Oz, but this time as coach/counsellor - or maybe on-line!!! It works very well on-line!!! My study material was Australian [from Sydney]. with my african field-work - it will make a great combination. [your post has got me going!!!] what is an 'associate' degree?- i like the title. i had a nice weekend tho I have had to literally lock my door and pull the curtains to be undisturbed - which at the moment I NEED TO BE! It is one of the hardest things for people to get. anyway - it's ALL good - everything is good.[Confucious said: "there is beauty in everything, but not everyone sees it". I have that as a by-line on a web-site of my photography that I started. I must actually get back to that - once all this legal bullsh*t is out of the way - and to answer your question, my brother and i have found further proof that proves our case - so now it is a matter of setting it out to slamdunk it home. In a way I am enjoying the process, tough as it is,- but it is strange because I had to move into the house that was my gran's - it is in a retirement [eco]village and one can only move in when u are 60 - we had the right to rent until we wanted it, which agreement they are now breaching. however, i absolutely love it here - surprising myself - over 2 decades my gran had landscaped it to make it so private, but pretty - i LOVE it - also discovered I could {and did] become a registered "senior citizen" - LOFL!!!!!! means i get discounts now and can force men to stand up for me in the bus!!! LOL! and, because the police said i should be here physically and let them get a court order to get me out ... which is what i have done'- but the way some villagers and the management have reacted is a comedy farce, melodrama - whateva - in the end, I get a whole lot more out of it than i even thought! it has tho come in the middle of the mourning of my gran [they started the sh*t a year before she died - trying to 'move her on']- i have left my home to others - so i am displaced [being 'tapped' here by others]- a GYPSY -what's new- but i am using this COCOON period to grow ... in the right places. ; ) much LOVE speak soon

The Uni I attending is actually Central Queensland Uni. I am doing my course full time by distance learning this allows me to stay in my own home, keep working and there are no major disturbances to my children lives. An associate degree is an undergraduate degree. This courser goes for 2.5 years. I will then go to a local uni to do my bachelor in education for 1.5 years. I can then work as a teacher, but i plan to do my special education degree, which is about one year so I am looking at about 5 years study. Can we view your photos now somewhere in cyberspace? I would love to see them. Hope all goes well with your case. These legal proceedings seem to take forever. Glad you have found new evidence too. You definitely come across a strong, intelligent woman I am sure your outlook will be positive. My prayers are with you. Take Care, Truth

I shall be 13 in another 2 months and still growing. At 63 I am the tallest in the family. Mom is 6, while dad is 54. Said he married mom to have tall children. But something different happened. At 18, my brother who is just around 55 has stopped growing. I have always been about a head taller than him, but in the last one year, I grew up from 58 to 63. My brother just reaches my shoulders, but in a years time, if I still continue to grow, he will be much below my shoulders. I pity him and he is terribly embarrassed when we go out together, especially since I love to wear high heels!. Heather
