I'm such a lazy non-smoker that I'm getting up tomorrow morning at 5:45 to do a 5K in the rain to raise money for a local non-profit and then Sunday supporting my running teammates by again getting up early, meeting them somewhere along the route of the L.A. Marathon with dry clothes and snacks (oh, did I mention in the rain again?) Did I mention getting up at 5:45 almost every Saturday morning for 3 months to train for a half marathon and raising $2,500 for LLS? I was up at 3:30am last January 29th for that event. What are you doing tomorrow for a non-profit? How about Sunday? How about next week?

Excuse me, I should have added the part about hail and thunder. I am actually looking forward to it so not complaining at all. It's certainly not the first time I've done an event like this in such weather. Sorry, if you responded to what it is you're doing to help your local community tomorrow or even in the near future, I must have missed it. Please post that info again.

I'm well aware of this. Now, do smokers smoke in areas (besides bars) where it's prohibited? A simple "yes" or "no" will suffice.

CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY BEHIND THE FRONT.
SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 2000 AND 3000 FEET SATURDAY NIGHT
AND SUNDAY...IMPACTING MAJOR TRAFFIC CORRIDORS THROUGH THE
MOUNTAINS...ANTELOPE VALLEY...AND CUYAMA VALLEY. CONDITIONS WILL
ALSO BE FAVORABLE FOR SMALL HAIL AND ISOLATED WATERSPOUTS SATURDAY.
GALE FORCE NORTHWEST WINDS ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY. HIGH SURF WILL IMPACT LOCAL BEACHES SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Fortunately we won't have to worry about waterspouts.

Well, not sure if Disney, hotels, etc. have done that but Disney certainly does post a lot of signs stating that smoking is only allowed in "Designated Areas" and with hotels signs are posted at entrances, upon check in, by the pool entrance, etc. that it's a "Smoke-Free Property."
frisky wrote:
<quoted text>i can not give you a straight up answer of yes that you are looking for because i have seen people smoke in public, out side of buildings , what the buildings distance for restriction on smoking is, i don't have a clue, so, is the smoker in violation of the smoking ban ? can't say without knowing what restrictions apply where.
if the smoker was smoking in an area where there is a sign posted "no smoking in this area" than yes the smoker is at fault.

While you'd think you can trust the weather.com website, last time it rained in L.A.(until this morning) their website stated it was sunny.

You have to average them out: http://www.ehow.com/how_6437936_calculate-ave...
frisky wrote:
<quoted text>what do you mean by that.. everyone said my calculation of 18% plus 22% did not equal 40%....i would like for Hugh Jass to explain to me how it does not... since he brought it up.

Uhhh 18% represents the level of women who smoke, 22% represents the percentage of men. Now if you knew how many that 18% represented in numbers of women and how much the 22 represented in numbers of men you could add the two and determine how MANY TOTAL peopel smoke then take the total number of citizens and figure out what the percentage would be!

This is math, not rocket science...come on Barbara this is 6th grade shiat!

Last comment...
By your own goofy logic and math...
18% represents the women who smoke, which means 82% do not smoke.
22% represent the men who smoke, which means 78% do not smoke.

If we were to start adding these percentages like you suggested, then that would mean that 40% smoke, but 160% do not!

Hmmmm imagine that?

lol

Linda Barbara Steven you are a foolish simpleton and have proven yourself to be quite a fool on topix!

Go back to your couch you blob!

If you could just figure this out on your own, you might actually gain a tiny bit of respect. We all know that your math is incorrect so we obviously know how to average percentages.

Okay, I'll help you get there (assuming you can).

First, ask yourself "22% of what?" and "18% of what?" Then ask yourself "40% of what?"

You got 100 apples and 100 oranges. Add 18 apples to 22 oranges. Now, how many out of 100 is that? And 100 WHAT?
Hugh Jass

If that doesn't quite get you there, try it again with 200 apples and 100 oranges.

Now, since you have 22 out of every 100 apples and 200 apples, you have 22+22 apples or 44 apples. Since you have 18 out of every 100 oranges, and only 100 oranges, you have 18 oranges. Add them together and how many per 100 do you have?

And don't tell us about your bellyache from trying to eat all of them.

Tracie- what's this answer. Do 18 + 22 DIVIDED BY 200!!!!(YOU DUMB FUCK!!!!!) That's how you get percentages!!!!!!
WOW!!!! I literally didn't know there were people like you who are THIS dumb in the world!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!!!!
It's not THAT simple, though. That only works if there are exactly as many women as men you agree not to count children or pets, etc.
