It's because humans are intuitively scared of two things:

1. Clowns
2. Dudes called "Dr. Bob."

Oh, don't be scared of me FTFB4. I'm just a little old grandma, wearing my red, white and blue pop beads that I bought at Woolworths's in the 60's. Why, I could hardly kick anyone's ass in my terry cloth slippers and support hose. My grandson bought me a paint ball gun for my 75th birthday, but, it doesn't do much damage. You should fear the unknown, way more than me. You know all about me, after all.

No, it hasn't. It has a no better success rate than no help at all, and a higher death rate. It is a failure and a fraud, and Bill Wilson was a lunatic.

You can take my name, my admission of alcoholism and my first 11 steps, but you can never take my vodka soda.

I'm still taken by the first line of that article. Dr. Smith needed one last drink before he said he'd be ready to start AA. That never works, but it did.

Ask my husband. He thinks one vodka gimlet a week makes an alcoholic. He would go over the edge if he knew sometimes I have 2 in a week.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Gemini

Your lunar low cycle begins today as the Moon enters Taurus, so stay in bed and dream as long as you can. What have the Twins learned over the past month? Ask yourself where you've been and where you want to be. Any woman will tell you that there is a profound sense of relief mixed with pain, that marks the end of each monthly cycle. Letting go of the old to make way for the new, is what ties us into the universal cycle of life.
