It's funny to see all the cheering going on when they are putting the last nails on their own coffins in their "careers" in government.
What a bunch of brainless idiots. They know the majority of constituents don't want this. They can kiss their political butts goodbye.
It would be easier if they just go out and blow their brains out. We already know that they don't want to be in the same health care program since it's so crappy.
I just have never seen so many cheer their own demise.
I don't know...if amnesty is granted, they just might pull it off. Lot's of young folks ,and just stupid people out there..you know the one's..buy a $250,000 house with a $10/hr job, then bitch when the bill hits!

Congress wants this because brainless moronic idiotic slugs are preexisting conditions. Save the lemming zombies.

The eyes in their heads are so beautiful. Is that why their eyes keep looking at each other? No wonder they can't read.

Skip the Tea Parties, may need to start a new party. Called the No Work Parties, once every 3-months no one in America works for 3-days. Maybe we can send a strong message to the politicians starting locally, all the way up to the rich no reality bums in Washington.

Many young people will choose to pay the lowered fine instead of getting insurance- since this bill does nothing, not a single thing, to lower costs, it will still be cheaper for healthy people to opt out. Medicare will be gutted, and those benefits given to others who have not paid for them. Small business will hire fewer people. Big business will take it's business elsewhere. People like myself, who have already pricey coverage with a high deductible and an HSA will not qualify for anything better, and will not see an increase in services or a decrease in cost, and will pay more in taxes. This is much like the MA model, and it is a miserable failure in that state, not accomplishing any of the goals and costing a lot to boot. Gutting the country's economy and doing it by a very small margin may seem like a victory for Obama (the Dems HAD to give it to him, even the ones who knew better), but they aren't seeing the forest for the trees. This kind of arrogance hurt the Republicans, and the Dems took it a step further- they didn't learn a thing- the great uniters, my patookis. This isn't the end of the GOP- this is another motivator for a swing to the right, which is happening already.

End of the GOP? No, the Dems have given the GOP their biggest boost in years. This bill may prove to be the biggest job killer yet, and the previous Dem fiascos in the job killing arena were pretty darn good. Jobs that DO become available will pay less (who wants to jump up into the next tax bracket?). This is so regressive that few businesses will be willing to expand. Additionally, the "underground", untaxed economy will boom. Cash and services will remain under the eyes of tax authorities.

If anything, the GOP needs to move to the right to counter this Leftist Administration. The GOP needs to mark their territory (smaller government, lower taxes, pro-business/jobs, less intrusiveness, National Defense, no phony-baloney pseudoscience, etc) and market their program to the moderates, with a focus on showing minorities how this would help them. Use common sense alternatives to massive agenda mongering.

Kudos to CO Dem Betsy Markey- as s self-made woman and successful business owner, she used her brain instead of, well, the other parts these lockstep libs are using in this matter, and voted against the bill. As a Dem in a conservative district, she is proving to be a pretty smart cookie, and did what she said she would do. I didn't believe her when she said she didn't have her mind made up, but I am glad to say she was honest, and that I was wrong about her, in this, at least. She had said before that the $$$$$'s just weren't being spent well, and she stuck to it.

raysmom, you speak and know whats going on so well, I'm learning, I read this blog, and think about what was said and try to see if I can say something that is well said, but it's not my time yet. But I read the blogs and am learning. One day I will say something that will make the rest on this forum go Wow she does have a good post. But until then I'm in the process of learning, and will eventually say what I feel. At this point I won't, only because whatever I do think or blog will be judged and told how clueless I am. I'm not, but what I think is one thing and what I say may be taken for something else. I will keep my mind open and my heart ready for that day. I know I have said this before, but you are an exceptional woman. And I truly mean that, you're a blooming flower and your thoughts and blogs are magnificent. At least to me!!! like I said I'm learning and we will see, thank you for your inspiration and for just being the great Lady that you are!!. I mean this from the heart.

MissCool, don't try to wait until you can impress. Toss in your 2 cents! No matter how good you write, no matter how impressed most might be, somebody is going to rip on it. It's the nature of this "game". Even at that, sometimes it's a matter of finding your niche, which won't reveal itself until you DO get into the fray. Most of the folks here have a comfort zone that they do well in. tort does well in the legal and historic arenas; Mom has access to a legal mind, runs a business, and has uncommon sense; Dave puts a comedic twist on things; dawg is fresh out of the military (sort of, still in the Reserves) and understands that arena; PI, well, you know him; I can research almost anything; GJ, GG, and the rest, all have something unique. Just start up, yours will come to the fore. Practice makes perfect.

Health insurance reform will not be facing enough uphill battles in the senate and the house by approving the bill showed its full lack of vision in the added problem that will emanate and continue to grow from the bill’s passage. It’s ok for poor ignorant humans to breed, but it is unacceptable when a woman decides that breeding would be more of a problem than a solution in her life. What’s up with that? Free government health insurance should be an earned benefit and not a right for the millions of humans that do not give a damn about serving their country, but will kill innocent people in a fight to get everything for free. Breeders on your mark, get set, breed, breed, and breed. All of your care is free. The Obama and friends association for free government sponsors your healthcare and for everything else you want. Please tune in tomorrow for more free government benefits.

MissC, Thank you. CJ has it right- you always have such an honest approach! I like to hear your opinions- and the fact that certain people don't speaks well for you! LOL! I see the trolls have been marking up anyone they disagree with- how productive.

This has much more consequence than Grandma being allowed to die, although it is always an issue when gov't regulates personal choice, of course. That is how libs like to minimize the opposition because they can't justify their position. This is about redistribution of wealth and not addressing the real issues about healthcare costs and service and spending trillions to do it.

Can anyone tell me why health insurance companies are exempt from anti-trust laws? Wouldn't this be a good place to start figuring out why healthcare and insurance has tripled in a decade? Obama & CO just keep trying piling on cures when they don't know what's making the system sick. So now people can pay $500 to opt out, and then if they get sick, buy "insurance" at the hospital? That's not insurance- that's not paying to insure yourself- that's letting someone else bear all the risk and cost. How does any of this control costs and improve care? It doesn't. And libs can whine all they want and make snarky comments from here to heck and back, because they can't legitimately come up with one decent argument about how this is a good bill- they can only seek to belittle those who are simply smarter than they are about this, and they know it.
