UPDATE 1-US ruling casts doubt on expanding healthcare for the poor

Jun 28, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Reuters

While the Supreme Court upheld a U.S. healthcare overhaul on Thursday, its decision cast doubt on whether the plan to extend health coverage to more than 30 million uninsured people will reach some of the poorest Americans.

the poor and illegals already get free healthcare thru medicaid or just walking into a hospital ER. Thats why people who pay out of pocket or with health plans have the astronomical bills to pay for the po folks. nothing will change, they won't tax an illegal or someone below poverty line, if they don't have medicaid, they will be given it. They don't pay now and they won't pay 10yrs from now.

This great ruling led by Chief Justice Roberts that deemed President Obama’s signature piece of legislation CONSTITUTIONAL just guaranteed President Obama a second term.

This is such a great day, made even better when I saw that batsh*t-crazy tea-bagging congresswoman Jean Schmidt completely lose it when she found out the court upheld Obamacare, LOL… a must see; it was on the Ed Shultz Show. Speaking of must see: for all who got the wrong ruling this morning because you were watching fox news (or CNN); if you want accurate information, and the best in cable news then you had better keep your TV locked onto MSNBC like I do.

The IRS is well known for collecting from those who didn't pay their dues so if you are poor and use emergency care without having an insurance, GOD HELP YOU, because the IRS will garnish your existence! So you are better off dying in your own house!

Mostly people who work for a living, pay thier own insurance. The poor in the cities you named are probably on welfare and suck off the rest of us.

Pay their own insurance? Which insurance? Give names. The working class probably relies on employer's insurance. And the part-timers, who get their jobs through a TEMP office, pay the TEMP office for insurance!

The 30 million people with no official insurance rely on their cities and towns to take care of them and we all pay their bills! If they are taking Welfare, they probably qualify for medicaid and in that case, they are covered. However, there are 30 millions who don't qualify for medicaid!

Something tells me this isn't what Obama had in mind. He looks sick to his stomach for some reason. Nobody expected it to pass. Roberts is up to something, I think.

This is awful, now the the uninsured no longer have the right to welch on hospital bills, they have to be insured like the rest of us too? Where's the justice? All this does is give the Big Medicine an intraveinous tube into our wallets. We no longer have the right to be uninsured and they never have to be stuck with the bill again. Obama sold out to big business.

There is some truth to what you are saying. It may backfire on him in November when the ability to live without paying a health tax is over for many people barely scraping by right now because there isn't a job to be found out there. i think Roberts put the screws to Obama. It was all a sham until now. I think the joke is on Obama.

At this point it really doesn't much matter. We are broke and going more broke every day. We're screwed.

We've done what Russia said would happen, we've spent ourselves out of business.

This health care fiasco is going to kill the economy.

All I can say is 16 trillion heading to 30 trillion in debt. They won't be able to tax us enough. You can't have a country with half of it's people sitting around on the government dole in one form or another.

It's going to be a long slow erosion that will lead to sudden implosion.

We can't tax our way out of this, the numbers are too large.
