smoking is stupid wrote: <quoted text> Gosh. If you had to think to breathe, you would turn blue and die. Come to think of it, as a smoker that still may happen to you. You seem to miss all of the progress that we have made in Ohio and other places in the past 25 years. Smoking bans started off slow- in elevators and places like that. We antis are like the camel who just wanted to get his nose inside the tent to keep it warm. Now we are standing almost halfway inside the tent. It will not be long before we are all the way inside there. Yesterday, when I went to the grocery store in the morning, it was raining outside. The smoking employees were standing well outside the doorway and the covered areas and had umbrellas in thier habds as they were smoking. Five years ago, they all would have been huddled up close to the door where the rain could not reach them. They were now standing where they really needed to be. Our local paper here has a listing of apartment complexes with units for rent. It has columns describing the amenities and rules. For example, it tells you whether pets are allowed. Over half of the COMPLEXES did not allow smoking. When I need to go into Chicago, I take the train. Used to be you could smoke in almost half of the cars. Then there was only one car on the train you could smoke in and now there are none. After that, they made the entire station smoke free, including the platforms. Because of the percieved threat that terrorists may attack a commuter train, there is a large police presence and I have seen more than one commuter being given a ticket because they tried to smoke on the platform. Virtually all of the smokers comply and wait the extra 10 minutes or so that it takes them to get out of the station. Oh, yeah. Since there are also police on the street they have to wait until they get away from the door. 10 years ago that would have been unheard of. I was on Michigan Avenue in Chicago the other day. There were actually very few people outside smoking as we were walking down the street. I saw only one lone pipe smoker and it reminded me of how few people smoke pipes in public. I smelled another pipe smoker on the train as I was returning home. Pipe smokers are truly a dying breed. I go out to eat quite a bit. I ate at an outdoor cafe in Chicago the other night. There was also a large bar area. No smoking was allowed there. No one was smoking. That is the rule here rather than the exception. I also travel quite a bit, including forays into and through Ohio. I notice most places in ban areas do follow the ban. When i encounter a place that does not follow the ban (which is rare), I simply call the authorities and report it. Say what you will, but as a smoker you are losing ground and the evidence is there for everyone to see. Of course, YOU are unable to see it because you seem to be here all of the time defending your "right" to smoke. Look at all of the progress we have made in the last 25 years. Look at what we are proposing now (no smoking in cars with kids, no smoking in apartments and condos) and you can see waht a grim bleak future there is for smokers, including in your home state of Ohio. I have no problem with public property being smoke free..so whats your silly point LOL

Now that that is out in the open, you can relax, youou. The antis really don't need your help for all who read this forum to see their insanity but I enjoy how you can emulate all their character flaws to a T. Have you been approved for your Equity card yet? Thats interesting since they do make the anti ban people look awfully bad

smoking is stupid wrote: The great thing about the Ohio ban is that these hard core smokers are Johnny Come Lately to fight the ban. In 1984, Ohio had already banned smoking in theaters, opera houses, auditoriums, educational facilities, elevators, health care facilities, state owned buildings, libraries, public transportation and museums. We antis have had our foot in the door for over 25 years and have seen the smoking bans get more restrictive. Where were you smokers when you should have been fighting for the theater owners right to allow smoking? You have lost. You are correct. Smokers are a shrinking minority. They are hold overs from the good old CroMagnon days. Based on the pap and drivel that I see them post on here, we should be a little nicer to them. Their brains are fried. They have lost and they can't do anything about it. I guess they could move to a smoker friendly state.

Only if you stop talking about us smokers like we are dogs. We are humans. We have familys, we have jobs, we pay taxes, we are law abiding citzens. We are 20% of the population, stop treating us like we are second class citzens, for we are not.! You non smokers has addictions too, they just havent been banned yet.! Some are as nasty as smoking. Now if you have any intelligent to say post it and we shall debate it.

Its was supposed to be a sarcastic joke about anti-smokers in general. They all want to eliminate smoking but can't live without your tax money from the sale of tobacco. Guess it went over your head. I will be waiting for your "snappy" yet witty comeback.

Still hearing the voices of "nicodemon" in your head? I have tried to give you the help you need but you still refuse to help your self, and now the "voices" you hear are getting louder. Are they telling you to hurt yourself/others? or small animals? Just remember to tell yourself whenever you hear "nicodemon" it's not real, it's not real. They will soon go away, untill next time take care my friend and good luck to you.

Its not the least surprising that you spit on the soldiers own freedoms A he11 of a lot more military members don't smoke than do...so bite me bimbo. Those who smoke need to stand up by themselves and stop being kept together by nicotine fixes. You never know when they will be depended upon to perform without smoking for any period of time. Their addiction can only cause harm.... Nothing good ever comes from smoking.
