Every previous governor had a director of finance that was smart, analytical, and had a certain amount of sophistication. Each clearly also had the ear of their bosses. I don't know about the current one. Does anyone know? Please share what you know or have heard. Thank you.

Catherine Wingate wants us to all sit in her drum circle and smoke weed while listening to wind chimes as some Naturpathic Oracle disguised as a Doctor tells you to "eat two of these pieces of tree bark and call me in the morning."

These Naturopathic Doctors are a joke and do not truly have any real highly trained medical background.

Sort of like nurses trying to act like Doctors up at the Veterans Administration, or the psychologists trying to pass them selves off as being Psychiatrists, and here we have a bunch of enemic granola eaters trying to pretend their qualified Medical Doctors.

Lingle may not be right on everything, but her veto of this bogus bill would serve the People of Hawaii well.

"Our governor has failed us miserably, but refuses to take responsibility which demonstrates her severe lack of leadership skills. Her handling of the budget shortfall is concerning and her behaviors seem almost childlike. She is playing games with peoples' lives and doesn't seem to care very much. I am just glad we only have to endure her Bush-like tactics for another year. I hope the voters remember when the elections come up and vote for a party that supports the people."

E Mr. Lutte,

Don't forget that some Democrats have fleeced and/or are fleecing America. It's a greed thing... not a party thing. They play with people's lives too.

Just yesterday the U.S Senate voted to approve of a $42.9 billion homeland security bill yesterday:

H.R. 2892 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2010

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_ca...

Look at how many Democrats voted for it. It was not just Republicans.

Whatever some people do in the next elections... I hope that they vote for Mr. Duke Aiona for governor.

James, she does support the people, ALL of the people of Hawaii, not just the government worker unions.

If a person goes to medical school or dental school, gets an MD or DDS, then that person is a "Doctor." That "Doctor" can examine patients, make diagnosis, and prescribe medication. If a person does not match the above, then that person is not a "Doctor" and misses the cut on any benefits that may be due to a trained physician.

Well, my, my, Lana, I am impressed. Your argument is advanced especially with the evidence here in Hawaii as to what happens when an entrenched Democratic Party of Hawaii seeks to rule and control every aspect of our lives, especially the usurious tax-hikes designed to enrich the corrupt unions also feeding at the trough.

I like Aiona but he is for the Akaka bill and so, therefore, as a matter of principle, I cannot support his candidacy. Though some may discount and discredit Carrol, he, at least demonstrates a commitment to ideals that is admirable and has, at this point, earned my vote.

But, no way, no how, shall I place my vote for ANY Democrat (and I ain't even a Republican, really, just despise and detest the Hawaii Democrats).

Kind of hard to do when so many candidates run unopposed or have weak, opponents who get little or no support from their party.

My husband and I are not one of the couples who make over $250,000 a year. I do not think that the government (Obama) has the right to decide that it wants to do something (Health Care, Cap and Trade) and then say: We're going to get the money from these people.
Hard work and saving, not living above ones means, is the back bone of the economy of the United States. For people who have worked and built, does the government have the right to just decide to take away their money? How do they know what a person has sacrificed, how hard they worked, to get to the position of earning more than $250,000 a year.
Some high powered executives make an unconscionable amount of money but what kind of earning police would we have to have to sort out the people whom we think earn their money right and true or those who earn it on the excessive side? Do we want the government to decide that? Just as, do we want the government to decide that they know best when they're taking our money away from us?

I never mentioned democrats, so you might want to reconsider before you asume what someone else is referring too. I personally am not happy with any politition right now, especially Lingle. I have no respect for anyone who can't take accountability. I don't know who I will be voting for, but it won't be anyone from this administration.
