Get your head out of your ass, Wisconsin isn't the only place in the world people get alzheimers. If they were in the late stages of alzheimers your reasons for wanting them alive were purley for the selfish reasons you could not deal with thier deaths,as their minds were pretty much gone. Alzhiermers robs people of their family members a piece at a time and towards the end the patient can no longer feed, dress, etc themselves and no longer recoginzes people around them. To want a person to suffer through that and hang on to live is for purely selfish reasons.

JFTR wrote: <quoted text> You are comparing drug use to diabetes? Not the use but the disease. Let's face it many of the cases of diabetes are in fact self induced because of poor food choices, food addictions and unwillingness to use will power. I prefer to leave the moral issue to the side as that is just a personal choice. On the other hand I have known people who were bipolar and used drugs and alcohol to self medicate because they never knew they were bipolar until they were already addicts. Logic dictates that if we treat a self induced diabetic then we must treat a drug addict. If not, what kind of Spanish Inquisition are we going to put people under to ascertain the cause of their diabetes? That is my point and you should know me better than that!

Why do we have to keep the drug addicts in Demerol, morphine, lortabs, oxycontin etc. Let them get a job. If they worked, they would not have time to frequent the ER with every runny nose. I am against bums.

On the bright side, Mr. Obama is looking a little worse than Jimmy Carter right now and we all remember what happened to Mr. Carter!!!!

Thanks for your hard work and all of the informative info, JFTR. There may also be 'silent' observers who have gained from your efforts and information. As to those who rebut with such relent, they can be written off, to a couple of categories. Keep waking them up to the truth and facts. This is OUR COUNTRY.

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/freshman-... “Twenty-one freshman Democratic House members have signed a letter opposing their leadership's plan to raise taxes to finance a healthcare overhaul. Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) circulated the letter, saying that the income surtax on the wealthy would place an undue burden on small businesses, some of which pay taxes in the same way as an individual. The letter had 22 signers, all freshmen except for Rep. Paul Hodes (D-N.H.), who is in his second term.”

WASHINGTON (CNN)-- The fight over health care reform took center stage on Capitol Hill on Friday, as the House Democratic leadership stepped up its push for passage of a bill before the August congressional recess.
An influential group of Senate moderates, however, broke with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Obama by releasing a letter urging a slower timetable.
Obama, who has put health care reform at the top of his domestic agenda, pushed Congress to get the job done. "Now is not the time to slow down, and now is certainly not the time to lose heart," the president said from the White House.

All politics are based on the idea of abandoning ones position in order to gain an advantage REGARDLESS of party affiliation.

Notice it says clearly, "Confirmed by the House Ways and Means Committee." CONFIRMED by the House Ways and Means Committee.
"NBC, ABC and CBS all aired exclusive interviews with President Barack Obama last night discussing his sweeping plans to assume government control over the nation's health care industry. But none of the networks seemed aware of the bombshell easily discovered by Investor's Business Daily and confirmed by the House Ways and Means Committee: a provision in the bill that severely limits private health insurance choice.
Page 16 of the House bill, IBD reported, appears to make it illegal to "enroll any individual in such [private health insurance] coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law."

If people ate fruits and vegetables, and less wheat, Diabetes wouldn't be such a huge problem. At least that's what I've read in Dr. West's newsletter. Part of the problem with the modern diet is advertising. People are inundated with advertising promoting unhealthy foods.

See a REAL Doctor. Part of the problem is people getting their information from web sites shilling dietary aids and 'natural' supplements. Oh, and from watching the Today show.
