And just what the heck does ending “Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell” have to do with health disparities? Absolutely NOTHING. The AMA can go to he!!.

Yes, end “DA-DT” NOW; start asking all recruits military members their sexual orientation NOW and discharging gays NOW!

"start asking all recruits military members their sexual orientation NOW and discharging gays NOW!"

Why? I was in the Air Force in the 70s for years. Some of the best officers and airmen were gay and we all knew it! But, you know what? No one cared! We all had our jobs to do. What are you afraid of. Think some "homo" is going to hit on you? Don't flatter yourself!

We lost some fine people during that time under the draconian laws that existed at the time. Our squadron's First Sergeant was drummed out just two years short of retirement. Our Commander showed up that day at shift change with tears in his eyes (and a keg of beer in his truck) to break the news that the First Sergeant was being discharged immediately. No explanation was given, none was needed. Another airman met the same fate when a Captain in the base post office illegally opened this airman's mail and discovered that he was gay. She got a letter of demerit in her file and he got a dishonorable discharge!

How much does this cost the military? How many lives have to be destroyed? To what purpose?

If you want to hang out in this forum, then why don't you try and learn something from the good people here instead of just spewing hatred. You might find out that they are not that different from you!

Nothing. They are discussing two separate issues in the same article. Did you actually read it?

this article talks about two whole different things. and i personally dont have any problem with gays and their rights but i think this isssue should be asked to us, people that are actually serving and would have to go through this. also another thing is some peolpe no matter what arent going to want to tell someone their sexual preference, i have friends in the service and they are gay but they dont go around discussing it, they have told me many times they wouldnt want to just open up to everyone and let them know due to the fact that its going to make it hard for them because no matter what there is always going to be people that are going to judge and turn on someone just for this reason...
thats my thoughts, everyone is different though but im sure someone going through boot camp wouldnt want to have to deal with their fellow comrades hating or making their life worse then it already is at that point...

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Scorpio

A loved one is extremely upset today, and you'll soon know all about it. Things are out of proportion, so a minor hitch becomes a huge drama that means you've got to drop everything in order to calm them down. Hey ho. At least it won't last long. If you're doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, you won't have as much patience as usual and nor will anyone else.
