A Freemason, your hatred shows that you don't deserve to call yourself a freemason. Spouting your idiotic commments about FEMA camps shows what a fool you are. And by the way it's good to see that at least ONE REPUBLICAN had the sense to vote for what's best for the American people.

How is it best for the American people exactly? Is it best for the American people for the government to have the power to take money from one person for the express reason on giving it to another? Is it best for the American people to have a congress over step the bounds of their constitutional powers? Could you please explain?

Bring on Canadian style Obama sCare to the masses!

It's a dim-lib myth about Canadian health care.

-------

Foreign-trained doctors to boost number of medical specialists

OTTAWA -- A record number of young doctors are training to become specialists this year, with the largest pool of foreign-trained physicians among them.

Even so, Canada's top doctor doubts the Class of 2008 will make a dent in the nationwide physician shortage.

"It's an improvement, but it's not enough," said Dr. Brian Day, president of the Canadian Medical Association.

Nearly 2,500 medical residents started their hospital placements last month -- almost twice as many as six years ago, when Canadian medical schools last saw a sharp jump.

The increase is due to the record number of foreign-trained doctors who snagged residencies, suggesting government funding that helps immigrant physicians qualify to practise is paying off.

Of the 2,478 residents who landed their top choice of training spots, 353 graduated from medical schools outside Canada -- more than a threefold increase from 2007, when foreign trainees were first allowed to compete alongside Canadian-trained physicians.

But Day warned against relying on foreign trainees to ease a physician shortage, saying it's unethical for Canada to deplete doctors from countries that can't afford to train more.

"I believe that as a doctor in a Third World country, you have the right to move around the world, but Canada has to become self-sufficient in producing enough of its own doctors for our own population," said Day.

"I think it's wrong for us to go and actively recruit in Third World countries, because they need their doctors more than we do."
---
Meanwhile, in an encouraging sign for the five million Canadians without a family doctor, family medicine was reported to be the specialty of choice for 30 per cent of Canadian-trained physicians, the highest proportion since 1999, and a sharp rise from the low-water mark of 25 per cent in 2003.

----
At the same time, Busing warned the shortage of family physicians will not be solved overnight.

"It will not be a dramatic turnaround, particularly for access to family doctors," said Busing, president of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada, representing the country's 17 medical schools.

Actually, it's best that they did this now.

By doing this now, the Democrats have effectively cut their own throats in the 2010 election, meaning that Obama will be much less powerful should he make it to year 3 and year 4 of his Presidency.
The fact that it only passed by 2 votes in the house shows that it is on anything but stable ground, and the swell of rage that the American people will have over this overstepping of responsibility will have great impact on the Senate. They like to be lifelong politicians and are much less likely to fall on the sword for a one term wonder like the foolish representatives did.
If they had waiting until Year 3, after the midterm elections, like many Dems wanted to, then they could have passed this and then held the country ransom to reelect Obama...under the catch phrase of "Do you want Republicans to broker your healthcare". Now they won't be able to do that, but they will have to start the tax increases now, much to the chagrine of the already strapped tax base.
it will hurt the taxpayer now, infuriate the Gray Panthers, and make a lot of crooked politicians rich in the short term (The same guys who buy $300 toilet seats are now negtoiating your meds...feel good yet?), but in the long term it will bring about what this country really needs right now...

Change.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Sagittarius

Be careful about what you eat and drink today, my prancing Archer. Your body is in a sensitive state, so be well advised and steer clear of anything that might upset you, or to which you're sometimes allergic. Avoid anyone who's a one-man germ factory, in case a few bugs happen to jump out and over to you. Right now, you could do without it.
