There was that little matter of the War of Northern Aggression. Perhaps, the South will need to flex its muscles against intrusion once again.

They honestly feel they have the right to go anywhere, at anytime, and, be as unreasonable as they want. What you describe as trying to protect yourself, and, your son are reasonable actions. And, if, you state that you are asthamitic, I believe most smokers would do their best to remove the threat from you. It is all on how they are approached. We take so much abuse from Antis, that a kind word moves us to action. As BleuJeu says "Respect begets Respect" and it works both ways. Thank you, My Friend! Anti's and Smoke Nazi's believe what they want regardless of any logical or scientific proof and walk around in life with blinders on. I was standing with a friend that smokes way over in the corner of a parking lot and honestly a woman with two small kids made it a point and an objective to walk past us while returning to her vehicle. She literally had to walk several rows out of her way to walk past us. As she walked by us we were talking and she rudly interupted us while waving her hands through the air over her head like some kind of mad ape all the while spewing out slanderous smoke nazi junk at both of us assuming that I smoked too! Then she walked down the row of cars and back over several rows of cars to her own vehicle which when she fired it up it spewed it's own poluting ugly smoke in the air. It was burning oil obviously. This is the arrogant and uneducated way of these people.

There are those of us, that are PROUD to be Rednecks!!! lol I have found the difference in attitude from urban and rural areas to be VASTLY different. I will admit, I prefer the rural people, as , they don't pass judgements on people on issues that don't impact the QUALITY of the of the person. A good person is someone that can be relied on to be there if you need a helping hand... smoker or non makes no difference.

youou wrote: <quoted text> I just caught this one post. Why do you believe it will be short lived? Not stringent enough, too strict, loopholes or what? thanks, youou I think it will be short-lived because it does not "protect" bar patrons and workers enough to suit the goals of the triumvirate ACS/CDC/Surgeon General. Tennessee will eventually be more strict, toe the line. youou wrote: <quoted text> I just read your prior post. The police do not enforce ours in TN. This is from the TN site. Who is responsible for enforcing the smoking ban? The Tennessee Department of Health and the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development How do I register a complaint about a violation of the smoking ban? Complaints may be registered with the Department of Health or the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The departments will have a process in place for accepting and processing complaints by October 1, when the smoking ban takes effect. Ah, you are correct. That must have changed from the earlier link that you (as BigBoy, I think) had posted for me. This only means I have less of a qualm with Tennessee than I thought. ;-)

I don't mind smoking outside. What I do mind is not having a roof over my head to protect from rain and lightning. And, being outside with muggers and knife weilding people. A secure and safe area would be nice. Also, we had a completely seperate {with door and windows} smoking room with its own exhaust and no one under 21 allowed. You could never smell smoke outside the room. It was taken from us and I don't understand why. If smoking is only allowed in bars I guess most people will be going there. It encourages drinking and driving though, doesn"t it.
