I quit with Chantix and so did many of my frinds. I think the risks of continuing to smoke are far worse than Chantix. I just did not want to be hooked on ciarettes anymore.

People who drink also commit suicide.

Well, 1/2 to 1 pack a day, gal, I hope the risk you took turns out well for you. Zapping pleasure zones of the brain is a VERY dangerous practice with unknown implications down the road. That's why the drug now has a black box warning. I speak from experience with another highly-touted brain drug, Effexor. The long term effects of that drug years after taking it are still with me. If you want to brag about Chantix, do it quickly because it will probably be off the market soon. As for me, I started using an electronic cigarette, and with no effort whatsoever, have cut back from a pack a day for 40 years to 3-6 cigarettes a day. I did not even plan to do that when I bought the e cig.

Are you speaking to "nicodemon" again? What does he tell you now? Does he tell you to hurt yourself? or small animals? I've tried to help you but you need to stop taking the meds your DR. gave you. I told he over dosed it just a bit. This "nicodemon" wont leave your head until you take control. The next time he comes to you just repeat these words, you are not real, you are not real. Soon you will no longer see this "nicodemon". Take care my friend, and good luck. Remember we will help if we can, but you must help your self.

Hey, did you hear the good news? The govt has found a new whipping boy to raise taxes on for their projects. It's the rich! YAY! Now they'll stop their stupid tobacco taxes. I guess too many people have quit to benefit their coffers. They just used us to prove that Americans are stupid and will tolerate abuse of a single group as long as they are not part of that group. UU! You make over $200k a year? Sure hope so as they will be in your paycheck first.

UU....200K a yr.?!?!? Maybe in his little delusional world, but in the real world we live in it's more like 20K a year. People who have done well for themselfs would never brag about it on a internet blog to a bunch of strangers he most likly will never meet, which is why he brags so much. You can not lie to people you see regularly, you can lie to people you will never meet because they will never see your real worth.
Braggarts and liers go hand in hand.

I disagree. I did Chantix about a year ago, and while it make smoking easy to quit, it messed with my head so bad I had to get off it. It made me severely depressed, I couldn't even function. It also made me very violent when I slept. I would wake up and have sleepwalked around my house. I punched a hole in my wall, shredded some clothes...and I had no idea I did it!
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I got off the medication and still was struggling with horrible depression for at least three months after I stopped using the medication. I would much rather have a happy short life then a long life of depression. But that's just my experience with it.

I posted many links of people dying from chantix. That is a hell of a risk. Not one proven death by smoking or SHS.
I finally found where you people get your information, TV commercials. You people sound exactly like one. Being on TV it could not possible be a lie.

You are right! What some here promote is nothing short of a death wish. But hey, the government said so......or it was on TV. Yeah, it is the truth. What numb-nuts that can not think without someone telling them what to do, say and see.

How about those Hot Dogs? We're feeding our kids cancer sticks on a regular basis and they love them! Wonder when they will start taxing and policing them?

Hmm. I always thought suicide was immediate death. Smoking, on the other hand, generally takes 40 years or more to cause disease in those unfortunate enough to get disease. I see no logic in your reasoning, but then it was you who took the Chantix.

What is a troll?
A `troll' is an individual who enjoys creating conflict on the internet. He or she creates and fuels arguments which upset other members of the online community.
Trolls thrive in the anonymous space that is the internet. Trolls crave attention from others, and they don't care whether the attention is positive or negative. For trolls, other users are not quite real people; they are abstract characters on the other side of a computer screen. Trolls don't feel bad about hurting the feelings of other people in the digital space.

Trolls view chat rooms and newsgroups as a challenge where the winner is the user who creates the biggest argument, the user who upsets the most people in the most dramatic way. A troll wants to be the user getting the most attention.

Troll behavior discourages many users and makes for a less vibrant online community. New users may not post because they fear ridicule. Established posters may leave an online community because the noise has overwhelmed the real discussion. Trolls can make an entire community paranoid, leading users to become negative or to accuse a user engaged in normal criticism as a troll.

What should I do (and not do) about trolls?
Remember, trolls feel rewarded by creating the biggest altercation possible. They want to get a reaction out of you. When you fight with a troll, he wins. When you reason with a troll, he wins. Any time that you give a troll attention, he gets exactly what he wants.
The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. When you ignore a troll, he doesn't get the satisfaction of creating an escalated conflict.

To avoid reading/receiving posts from a specific user, you can use our Ignore User feature (click on the "Ignore User" link attached to any message posted by that user). You will not see or receive any more messages (including Private Messages) from that user.

If you decide to leave a discussion because of the negative tone, do not dramatically announce that you are leaving. While that message may make you feel better, it only convinces the troll that he is winning.

You may also bring an abusive post to the attention of our moderators. Please only do this if the comments violate our Terms and Conditions. Violations of our terms and conditions include any post which constitutes a criminal offense, pornographic content, an impersonation of an entity without permission, or an unsolicited promotion. A strongly stated opinion is not a violation of our Terms and Conditions even if it is stated in a way that you feel is insulting or hateful.

Please remember: the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them.

So looky who's left, 3 smokers who all believe that smoking does not harm their lungs or cause all types of cancer. Sooner or later all smokers quit smoking. Eventually no one will smoke in this country anymore. Just like the practie of foot binding, smoking will be outlawed. Foot binding done for centuries was finally outlawed when the people acknowledged that the risks, pain and disfigurement completely outweighed the benefits and social status perceived by having tiny feet. So smoke em till you can't!
