Glancing over the first 60 or so comments on this letter, I find that the biggest trouble with all of the "facts" about "Obamacare" being cited by the gullible fake conservatives are that they aren't facts at all, but merely a compendium of the lies and distortions being thrown at them daily by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the rest of the extreme anti-American, anti-people, anti-God corporate shills. Truly a sad way to see our once great country being destroyed.

I frankly do not know whom is correct, D's or R's in this debate. I am an independent, and my thoughts are as follows, the Government has no place in healthcare. However, I agree with the R's that tort reform is a must; and the D's that pre-existing condition exclusions are BS. So, I believe that this issue can be resolved without a take-over of healthcare; rather, some minor tweaks taking the best ideas of both sides.

Barry wrote: <quoted text> I do know what is in the bill Dave - that is what has you so upset. Dems wanted to ram this thru like the so called stimulus bill so folks would not know what was in it Again here are a few facts about the bill passd in the House The bill uses the command "shall" -- as in "you shall do this," "businesses shall do that" and "government shall do some other thing" -- 3,345 times The bill would create 111 government agencies, boards, commissions and other bureaucracies -- all overseen by a new health-care czar bearing the Orwellian title "commissioner of health choices." The government would force every American to buy health insurance and would control what benefits those policies must include. Small businesses provide their workers with a government-devised minimum package of insurance benefits. This could cost hundreds of thousands of jobs -- and force some workers to accept insurance benefits rather than higher wages Americans would have to pay nearly $730 billion in new taxes, fees and penalties over the next 10 years to fund this huge government expansion http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/fed_tak... How will this improve healthcare and lower the cost when taxpayers are paying so much more in taxes? Looks like the Obama drones would rather ignore what is actually in the House bill, attack anyone who points them out, and keep sprewing how great Obamacare is While the Dems will raise taxes right away, Obamacare will take effect for 3 years. I wonder how many of the liberals here would buy a car, put the monney down up front, yet agree to take delivery of that car 3 years later? That is what the Dems want to do to us with this huge scam they are trying to pull off -with the help of their supporters who still have confidence in what they promise

BTW, can any Obamacare supporters explain why Dems have to threaten JAIL TIME and FINES for anyone who rejects their fantastic healthcare plan? Or if the plan is so good why Dems rejected 11 Amendments requiring Congress to enroll in Obamacare? Sorry to bring facts into the debate again - my bad

Before we turn any more of our existence over to the government we all need to realize that the folks in DC (both Republicans and Democrats) have brought this country over the last 50 years to bankruptcy by pandering to this and that group to buy votes. Yes! We are broke and we all are going to feel the pain soon. This is not some abstraction that will happen after we are all dead and gone. We voters continue to encourage handouts from our elected officials as if debt doesn't matter. We want this and that to make life soft and easy without asking ourselves what we are all going to do when the dollar collapses, we have hyperinflation, and the government defaults on its debt? Where are we all going to go to live? Sure, we need health care reform, which to most of us means lower costs. But, the discussion in DC is about who controls health care and not about costs. Every physician can give you a quick list of things that would reduce costs much. But, truth is nobody in DC wants to hear them. This is all about more of what is driving the USA off the cliff...political pandering and promising folks stuff which we can not afford. Tragic and stupid!

It's obvious that you don't support yourself, yet you constantly complain about others getting something for nothing. You are also the most prolific when it comes to insults and name calling, so don't be so offended, or clean up your act. I tried asking him this about half a dozen times last week, and he not-so-cleverly deflected it by saying "Only fools and asswholes give out their personal information on the internet!" He gets VA benefits. Don't let him fool you. He won't divulge that though, because it paints him a hypocrite. Deep down he's just a hateful, spiteful, greedy SOB.

Why are the Obamacare supporters ignoring posts 72 and 73? Can't say I blame them for not wanting to answer them. They would have to be specific and answer direct questions

Thank God for people like Limbaugh, beck and the rest of the republicans for speaking the truth and show how the left tries to pull the wool over our eyes. Beck & Limbaugh - college drop outs, ex(?) druggie, entertainers. Listen to the Republican Party that drove this country to the brink of financial meltdopwn. Guess what - you're the fricken idiot. You might as well get your news from Bozo the Freakin Clown - he's an entertainer too - just like El Freakin Rushbo.

Your post was not there ST As far as car ins you have a financial responsiblity when you drive on the roads Forcing people to buy Obamacare from the government violates the US Constitution Plus, Obamacare prevents you from buying your policy form private companies, so your only choice is the Federal government The governemnt will determine how much care you will get, under what conditions you will get it, and the government must "approve" all procedures you will get You do not even have to be a US citizen to get Obamacare Even the Dems will not cover themselves and their families under this plan - yet will FORCE us to take it Now stop tossing out the isults, check your anger at the door, drink some decaf, and take a deep breath

Another lame excuse from the conservative "Just say no" brigade. They left office after putting this country in the freakin toilet but insist on doing NOTHING to fix it except b**ch about the efforts made.

In this bill, there is a mandate for iunsurance. According to John Boy, I can start an insurance company. For $10.00 a year, I will sell you a policy. This policy covers whatever I decide at the time it will cover. Send in your claim by mail & if it is covered, I will end you a check. If you get no reply, just assume the claim is denied. If there is a mandate to have health insurance, don't you think that some definition of a minimum policy should be made or can everyone just send me $10 & claim to be insured. But, John Boy & the right can seem to grasp this simple concept. They can't freakin read. We need to set the minimum requirements of what is considered coverage otherwise the mandate is meaningless.
