North Texas Neighborhood Bans Smoking

It is very interesting that an apartment complex, no matter how titled, can be referred to as a "neighborhood". A "neighborhood" is made up of multiple, individually owned residences. Now, let's see a "neighborhood", either controlled only by city ordinances, or controlled by rules by HOAs, etc. that ban smoking. Then, this just might be a story worthy of being called NEWS.

What about the fall out from the Jet engines flying over head??? These kind of people chap my ass! Second hand smoke may not be good for you, but neither is most everything else! Your dna and genes dictate wether or not your going to get cancer, disease, and all kinds of other stuff. Yeah, drinking gasoline, and breathing in exhaust fumes, and eating processed food, smoking, drinking, taking precription drugs, etc. may kill you quicker ..... Point: If you want to live free from polution, all the other anoyances of society and "clean air" you will have to get far far away from humans..... and there's not a starbucks out there.... lol

Big deal. If that's what you want, so be it. This is why I'll never live in a neighborhood that has an 'association'. But that's my choice.

Good Deal! Coral them up like cattle. Let them go outside and suck exhaust fumes and non petty pollutants into their air bags. That should finish them off a millions times faster than second hand cigarette smoke. THANK YOU TEXAS!!!

An apartment complex is not a neighborhood. It was just another way the media takes a jab at smokers. I noticed on the video a couple walking their dog by the pool, don't people with asthma have trouble being around animals or animal dander?

This is humorous to me. You can go outside and breathe better just because you cant smoke on property. We are in North Texas, there is pollution. Are they going to ban exhaust from cars?

And lets not forget that its unconstitutional to tell someone that they cant smoke in their cars.

they took a good idea-no smoking in confined areas and turned it into a ridiculos scenerio -maybe you should move to mars to get away from all the air pollution as well

maybe when u fart, i am equally offended of the green gases expelling into the air and polluting my lungs. where is the brain matter these days

Good grief. Reminds me of the Branch Davidians and that "FL whatever" church that was recently exposed for child abuse. Just another sect of folks who take their self importance a little too seriously. Its been happening ever since the days of old when people came to this country seeking to create a "New Jeruselem" or some such eutopia. The memoirs of the kids of these "pioneers" who survived makes for humorous reading.

you hit it right on the head, the weakest position the antismoking nazis have is pushing a thing to far,ut they have to act fast as their political window of opportunity is fast closing and they know it. Thet are moving to total prohibition of tobacco with the move to FDA regulation. he chink in their story is comming out as more and more people read about second hand smoke causes no harm to anyone........now the civil lierties issue,constitutional rights,individual liberties and so on are fast becomoning the issue of debate as these NAZIS push for even more ectreme laws against the common people. Hm. I guess it's ok since it's private property and nobody HAS to move there. I despise cigarettes too. I just don't like the idea of rules governing personal choices. Seems very Soudi Arabia-like. What if they make rules like no reading the bible in public, no men with long hair, no afros, no farting, blah blah......

Yes – Second hand smoke is my greatest fear when I breathe in the nice, clean, and refreshing Dallas-Fort Worth air.

Molly seems to be another one of Stalin's "useful idoits"... persoanl dislikes advancing Socialist control over others.

One should wonder how she will protect her son from all the other "harmful" odors in this world, such as decaying bodies after the Socialist get complete control of America.

Well since the Saudis had to influx a huge amount of money into our system due to the housing crisis...they probably already own this apartment building.

The US economy is sinking like a stone. China owns you. Your fighting a war on two fronts. Terrorists fly planes into buildings killing thousands. Your medical proffesion kills more people than all your other industries put together. You can't send your kids to school without one of the other kids shooting them. You can't let your kids walk anywhere for fear of them being attacked or yourselves for that matter. You poison your kids with vaccines or they won't let you educate them. Ever asked why your kids are all your kids getting asthma.

Yet the most sinificant threat to yourself and family. If you are paranoid about SHS you are paranoid it's as simple as that.

This is ridiculous.

How far are these crazy people going to go, I choose to smoke, this is a free country and I should be able to do what I want, where I want.

I am glad this property owner had the freedom to determine the atmosphere on his property and find clients willing to spend their money for that atmosphere. I hope this 'community' allows other property owners the same freedom. I see they have a pool. I don't tolerate the chlorine, or the risk for children with a pool (pool death in the family),so wouldn't chose that property. I think carpet is nasty, especially if they allow pets and don't change that between occupants, so I wouldn't chose that property. The view is desolate. I like a tree or two, so I wouldn't live there.
Isn't it amazing that we all have different priorities for OUR property? It has worked for over 200 years.

Good luck to that community and leave mine alone.

Nah just the food that you eat because they saw you coming.

Besides most big well known Chief's, no matter what country they are from, don't care how it taste as long as it is presented well and looks good. After all it's the presentation!
