“We’re passing an awful lot of laws for an awful lot of leeway for 3 percent of the population,” said Toby Hoover, executive director at the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence.“That’s my question here: What are we doing trying to give people all these rights when 97 percent of the people don’t think they have to walk around with a gun in their pocket all the time?”

What a joker. I guess he never considered all the people who are not allowed to obtain a firearm permit such as convicted felons, mentally retarded or other mental condition, people with physical disabilities, people under the age of 21 which is well over 25% of our population and so on.

Still, Ohio has 11.5 million people in the state and 270,000 of us have CCW permits. The list is growing and in some places there are still waiting lines to get into class. That's a hell of a lot of people.
