Tractor, are you serious???

Of course you are not. You know good and well you don't care about hurting feelings.

Granted, you are not mean, vile or filthy in your language like many others are but what you say still offends. You have to know that.

In any event, I must go. It has been nice knowing of you. Hopefully, you shall see the light one day.

Good Luck.

This place is too much for me. Here on this forum there is too much fighting, bickering, name calling & just overall negativity. I find myself waking in the morning looking forward to the next fight. That in my opinion means this has gone too far.
I thought in stumbling across this site that I would find positive Black people discussing issues of importance to our race. What I found instead (and sadly participated in) was a group of Black people arguing and insulting each other, white racists degrading Blacks, BLACK women degrading Black men, white men fulfilling their sick fantasies and others that are more graphic than I care to mention.
In a nutshell, this place is not for me. I have a great life, a beautiful and proud young Black son, a career that is progressing and an appreciation for my people that knows no limits. Being here has brought out the negative side of me that I would prefer not to come out daily.
I believe that the majority of the people here mean well and are only guilty of falling into the same negative traps that I am making a decision not to any longer. There are so many other important issues for our people to discuss. Yet it seems that the only discussions that get any attention are those that are in my opinion just stupid and a waste of time! I mean really people, how much time will you dedicate to debating IR dating? At the same time, a thread about the stimulus package proposed by the president of the US gets absolutely no attention.
Again, I have met a few great people here and wouldn’t mind keeping in contact with them, but not here. There is just too much positive in my life to allow this site to change that. I am guilty of participating and attacking people here also. While I might say, I was protecting myself or my people, the fact is that I realize that nothing I say here will actually make a change in how anyone here lives or thinks. Knowing that, I really don’t see the point of participating.
I realized that when I actually left my home to go meet someone from this site who attacked me that I needed to remove this site from my life. I’m not saying you are all wrong for staying, this site is just not right for me.
I will stick around today and reply to the anticipated bull crap responses to this but I will not return tomorrow. It was nice to have had this experience and to have met you all.

So, here's my world.

I'm walking home from a store on a winter night in the rain and I notice a burly stranger in an SUV following me. I take the turn off the street to head to the sidewalk to my back door and I see this stranger get out of his vehicle and begin to pursue me.

I STAND MY GROUND with whatever means I have available.

I explain what happened to the cops when they arrive, and they take me in for questioning, but release me when they hear the 911 tapes and realize that an overzealous neighborhood watch volunteer had violated watch rules and the 911 dispatcher's too-vague instructions by pursuing me some 100 yards from his vehicle to the sidewalk where the confrontation took place.

The Hispanic community protests that I should have submitted to this stranger instead of STANDING MY GROUND, but the DA's office concludes that, in the situation I was placed in, and especially since I am a member of a group known to have been the target of Hispanic thugs, I was acting with a reasonable fear of great bodily harm or death. So, I go back to my life as before.

Of course, I'm an older white guy whose pot smoking and school suspension days are long in the past. Not that race played any role in the Martin killing, that is.

ps.

The "means I have available" is a little Walther PPK I've owned since 1968 (pre "s"). Yeah, it's a mouse gun, but it's very concealable and remarkably accurate.

Yeah, I originally got it, like so many others later, because it was James Bond's gun, and lucked out that it turned out to be such a great piece. Others have come and gone, but that PPK has a special place in my heart.

BTW: the "Gun Control Act" of 1968 that made the PPK illegal to import (and led to the PPK/S which holds an extra cartridge, clearly making it much safer), was passed largely because Leftist radicals - especially the Black Panthers - were exercising their Second Amendment Rights a bit too overtly for the Feds.

Officer: Sir, did the stranger harm you in any way? You: No sir he just asked what I was doing there. Officer: He never touched you or made a statement he was going to hurt you? You: No sir. Officer: Just following you and asking you a question is not grounds for killing or attacking someone. Please turn around an put your hands on top of your head.

What makes you so sure that this stranger did not threaten me or touch me, but simply asked me what I was doing?

So, that is not the conversation I would have had with the cop. And after all, since the stalker is not talking, I could have made up a story just as outlandish as Zimmerman's, "As soon as the dispatcher told me "we don't need you to do that," {follow Martin} I started to return to my truck, but was ambushed."

But, I would not have to make false claims to the police. I did, after all, retreat for some 100 yards past where this stranger got out of his car and chased me on foot. The stalker was armed, and had a history of violence, which I did not. And, the stalker was a younger Hispanic, ne'r do well of a man, and I"m an older, white, professional man. Not that race would have any more to do with my case as it did with the Martin/Zimmerman case.

Taking this out of the "my world" scenario, I'm anxious to hear how Zimmerman explains continuing to follow Martin for about 100 yards after leaving his SUV. And, the timeline from the end of his 911 call until the fatal gunshot is heard on other 911 calls is less than 3 minutes. During those couple of minutes, there was time for a loud argument and then fighting which caused neighbors to look for the disturbance and make 911 calls. In other words, Martin and Zimmerman were not exactly sauntering down that path towards Martin's back door.

Choosing to be an armed citizen requires taking on a great and heavy load of responsibility. I recommend to any considering, or already carrying a firearm to read Massad Ayoob. As both a strong supporter of citizens' right to bear arms (including legally concealed), and a long-time police officer and frequent expert witness in shooting cases, he understands the ramifications of discharging a firearm more than most, and is able to express his knowledge in the written word remarkably well.

Basically, he says that shooting someone, even in a clear case of justifiable self defense will likely result in messing up your life with legal challenges for many years. He also says that carrying a firearm requires one to go out of the way to try to avoid getting into situations where use of that firearm could become necessary. Otherwise, courts and juries may see one as a "cowboy" looking for trouble.

IMO, "tough guy cowboys," like it appears Zimmerman was should not be embraced by gun rights supporters. He acted in exactly the opposite way that a CCW citizen should act. Defending him, and especially going so far as to stretch or falsify the facts simply gives the anti-gun crowd more ammunition to push for banning firearms ownership. Divide and conquer still works, and you all best believe that's exactly what's happening here.

If we want our Second Amendment Rights preserved, we must win over, not alienate those who are either on the fence, or already opposed to gun ownership for defensive (not just "sporting") purposes.

How did you know he was armed? How did you know he had a history of violence? Yes you could lie and if there were no evidence to the contrary then yes you would walk, happens everyday. It's called innocent until PROVEN guilty. He doesn't have to explain anything, the state does. Zimmerman was not charged with following because there is no law against it. The law for stalking (does not apply to this case) requires a complaint from a victim. Once again for more times than I care to count, the dispatcher had no legal authority to ORDER Zimmerman to stop following no more than she could have told him "We need you to keep following him and report what you see".
