Rory McIlroy in no way can fill the void of Tiger Woods. Yes, Europe would love to have a golfer to draw more attention from America but there is no one capable. McIlroy is young but hasn't shown the consistency to be #1.

As I thought, the first thing that would happen is there would be some stupid move to take the #1 ranking from Woods without having a legitimate contender. For me Steve Stricker should be #2 and the closet there is to the #1 spot but still far removed from that #1 spot.

McIlroy may fill the gap for Europe but not the real golfing world!
