Kids reached out to touch him. Grown men shouted his name. Women smiled and begged for an autograph.

John Daly is an awsome personality and is definetley a people person and always will be, no matter what he is involved in with his personal
life. He could be having a bad day on the course
but he will still draw the lagest crowds.
Go John !

He may be a draw, but he's not good for golf. He's a quitter. He takes slots in tournaments like this one and then walks off if he has a bad day. That means alternates that could have played, are left out. I feel for his personal problems, but how can one person create so much unrest in their life??? He needs to make a few better decisions.

and my point is that i don't want to witness his life. there is enough bad reality tv. what happened to trying hard and leveraging your talent?? he's a fat lazy ignoramus that stumbles through on his "boy howdy" perspective. go practice, lose some weight, make a few cuts, and most importantly, take the incredible talent you were given and do something with it.

I don't think it's fair to say he takes slots from someone else. Mostly, he is there on a sponsor invitation. Which means he is there because he will draw a crowd of fans and bring the tournament more money and better ratings. Nothing against the no name that would be playing in his place but no one is tuning in or paying to see Joe Schmo grind out a round. I also think it's annoying that people can criticize how someone lives their life. Does Daly need to apologize that golf is not his obsession? He obviously supports himself well on endorsements, if not on winnings. He seems to be enjoying his life, except for the occasional divorce. Why attack him because he doesn't have Tigers' drive/obsession? Looked what happened to David Duval, who was as obsessed with golf and fitness as anyone? He seems happier without golf being his #1 priority, even though he hasn't had the success his talent should produce.

I'm sure I'll see you at an AA meeting too when you are ready to stop co-signing other people's bs and get on the wagon yourself. Only a fellow drunk can see through your lenses. Get a life? I have a life because Idon't think like you do. I don't care what John does with his, but like Michelle Wie, he should not be rewarded for being a derelict. He should have consequences like others do, because consequences are what drunks and addicts need, and in Michelles case, arrogant brats need, in order to finally look at themselves, and say, wow, I have to make some changes because my sh!t stinks.

So, its ok to make Alcohol your main obsession, as long as Mike Hampton is happy witnessing your self-destruction due to your addiction?

He should not be given endorsements, just like college kids are benched if their grades or conduct aren't sufficient. he should be docked likewise. Just like Michelle Wie should be docked for lying about heat stroke, or her uninjured wrist she is still crying about. Yes, consequences are necessary in order to make the shit stop.

But Mike Hampton, I'll let all my fellow alcoholics know that there are still insane people like yourself out there that think its ok for us to destroy ourselves, as long as there is someone who enjoys watching our demise making a joke out of it..... "the occasional divorce.." (don't quit your dayjob)

Amazing, you know enough about John Daly to draw conclusions about his life. Guess reading a few headlines is enough for you to come to a conclusion about his life that most psychiatrists would take weeks or even months to arrive at. Just because you are so bitter about your station in life that you need to lash out at anyone who disagrees with you, don't project your flaws onto the world. You think he should be docked for his behavior? Do you really think he hasn't been? Do you think he would not have more endorsements, more invitations and more wins if he straightened up and flied the straight and narrow? He has made a choice about his life and lifestyle and it's not up to us to decide if it's right or wrong. I don't see him "destroying" himself. I do see him living his life as he wants, whether drinking, gambling, playing guitar or golf. I do enjoy watching him play golf and I will root for him whenever he plays. I would like him to lose some weight, quit drinking, associate with better people and win more tournaments, or even make more cuts. But that won't stop me from being a fan of his and hope he does well no matter how he chooses to conduct his personal life as long as he doesn't hurt anyone else.

Bro, now that you're finished talking out of your behind, I don't need to be a psychiatrist, I've been a recovering alcholic for YEARS, therefore, you're correct, it would take someone a while to assess my type of perspective, however, I've haed years of dealing with it first hand from myself, my friends in the program, and being oriented with the clinical side of addiction counseling. Trust me, John is no more an exception to addiction than any of the rest of us.
I am not bitter or lashing out, just appears that some people like you can't handle talking to someone that is upfront, in your face, and doesn't dumb things down to play the game of politics. See, I don't care what you think of me, and you can talk trash, but I know my points are valid, and true. You couldn't invalidate them with all the money or resources in the world. Because theyare fact, not opinion. When you enable someone, they will continue down that road. John has hardly suffered consequences. He is a millionaire because of retards like you that like to watch a man destroy himself. He needs to lose him income, lose his spirituality, and lose people enabling him. That way, we may not read too soon in the future about his suicide, or accidental death... its coming, just wait.

If you continue to cheer, like a little kid, he will take that as his lifestyle being acceptable, and like a kid, will run with it. You can't have your cake and eat it too with addictions. But I know you don't have a clue what you're talking about so I forgive your stupidity.
