I think Mr. Azinger is wrong. Golf is a gentleman’s game and in my book gentlemen don’t applaud the mistakes of others. Perhaps Mr. Azinger wants to bring golf down to the same level as some of our other not too gentlemanly sports.

Sorry, but this is child like behavior. So is grown adults running around chasing a small ball and trying to aim at a hole, then getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If anyone cares, we are in a Depression and the only ones to reap anything will be the elite and our corrupted government.

Pres. Bush has taken billions of tax payers dollars and bailing out the lost stock of his friends and family who have stock in these companies. There was a news report where one man is devastated because he lost so much in the stock that he NOW has to sell his super sonic jet.
I am crying rivers over this. Alas is me.

Bush is borrowing this money from communist countries. Go to the stores and see the labels and where the items are made. Do you really think countries who have loaned money for the bail out and are NOT being paid back will send products over here anymore to be sold when we can not pay them.

Why do you think our elitist gov. has stopped a lot of farmers in America from producing anymore? So to have all our food imported from other countries.

What will people do for food due to our gov. inability to pay for it?

Oh, don't worry about them, they have been padding their pockets courteous of tax payers and have homes in other countries.

In other words, the rats will jump the sinking ship.

Think about it. I implore you.

Whatever, even in the worst of times, and these are not them, people look for distraction from their day to day problems, and golf is one of them whether you play it or watch. What sport isn't a child like thing to do? So please, I implore you, post your childish, conspiracy theory political opinion on an appropriate forum and leave us to argue if it's ok to cheer if the Europeans miss a putt.

Chylloh in the middle of the depression a reporter asked Babe Ruth did he think it was all right for him to make more money that President Hoover. Ruth smiled and said"i had a better year"/ Sports, movies, and other entertainment ventures help people escape some of the harsh reality that this world has for all of us. Iam not an elitist by any means. I play at Shawnee golf course when i can. If riding around in a cart for 4 hours, drinking a few beers, telling lies about my sexual escapades and laughing with a few buddies is wrong then condem me to hell. But i enjoy it and as long as iam not hurting you or anyone else i will continue. And i have watched as much of the Ryder Cup as possible and i have cheered for Americans and bitched about the Euros and i have had a fine time doing just that. Also look at the Ryder Cup like you would the Olympics. These men are not getting paid one single dime to be out there playing for their country. Hell they are not even allowed to wear their own advertising logos to make a buck. It is good to see someone like Kenny Perry and JB Holmes who came from backgrounds just like u and i playing for their country. NOw to get away from golf. U say Bush is bailing out his friends? These moves he is doing have almost the full support of congress, dems and republicans alike. IF BUsh has anything going for him to have a leagacy then this could be it. By allowing AIG and some of these other countries to fail then this country could have totally went bankrupt. These problems came from past and present administrations and govts nor regulating some of these things. The moves made in the last week might have and of course we will never know but he might just had saved this country from financial ruin and we all better thank him for it.AMEN

Richard,

These golfers make money off of commercials, bus. and other tournaments. Don't fool yourself thinking they do not.

The story about Babe Ruth reminds me of one of Pres. Bush's speech.

"The economy is strong and doing great."

If the economy is strong, why is the unemployment up? Why is gas at almost $4. when the price per barrel went from $143. down to $91. and the gasoline price still went up?

"They are only good people who only want to work." While billions of dollars are going to pay for illegal aliens welfare, food stamps, and health care.

If they only want to work, why the free health care and welfare?

Enjoy yourself, you are right, this is all that matters.

No one is foolish enough to believe Bush and to say the economy is in good shape. We are in as close to a depression as most of us has ever been. Still u have to have some fun or go out of your mind thinking about it. And yes i know the golfers make money on other things. But it is kool to see them put away money for a week to play for their flag and not cash. Kenny Perry gave up a chance to play in one of the most prestigious tourneys in the world (The British Open) so he could solidify his chance to play in this. Go USA.. Ill tell u what. Lets go hit a bucket and play a round and then tell me how lousy golf is. My treat

Thank you for the offer Richard. Wrong, there is no way I would let you see me make a #$@ of myself trying to hit a small ball, first, my eyesight would have a hard time finding it in order to try and swing at it.

You are a nice guy and I am sure a lot of what you are saying is the best all around for everyone.

Nothing wrong with a few Bud Lights when playing golf. You still shoot terrible and lose balls but you don't care as much. If it wasnt for the beers, my golf game would be downright miserable. Now it's just bad.

See that is the one thing i cant understand about watching pros play on TV.. How in the world do they do 18 holes and never have one beer? Damn that is amazing to me. I mean come on you get just enough to do the first 9 then u buy a few more for the all important back. And lest we forget about the 19th....
