1) At this point, one can't really beat up on Wie for this. I think it's more embarrassing the PGA is allowing this nobody sponsor's exemptions. The PGA and its sponsors are creating the sideshow. They need to be at the head of putting an end to it.
2) But harping on Wie, what is she going to prove next week? If she makes the cut, it's against a weak field. She'll NEVER make a cut against an elite field. NEVER. It's at this point, if she makes the cut, we'll all look at our watches and say it's about damn time, and wait ever so patiently for Tiger to rescue us all in 2009.
But no one cares anymore what this girl does. She's not the best player on the LPGA. She's not the best teen phenom any longer. She's not anything but basically a lottery winner.
As a PGA fan, this is just aggravating. There are FAR more capable players who should get the spot, ESPECIALLY since her hype has worn off. There was a time when I could say, "Yes, I see how in a tournament with no name draws, she can help as an attraction because of her circumstances." But now, she can't even fall back on that.

So don't watch, simple. No one will care if you do or don't. And you know why they couldn't give a shit if you watched or not, right Mr somebody-wannabee?
