Well, the article was written before the tournament, as you said. It is hard to know when the article was posted here on topix but I would think it was yesterday. I guess the topix people had nothing better to do than post irrevelent news to justify their worth with topix. There were a lot of golf articles out there regarding the LPGA tournament that just concluded.

Playing best golf, feeling great, but on no! a missed cut. After 62 tries and many years I would hope she thinks a win is around the corner, after that is why she plays. Only time will tell.

Yes, time will tell, whether all those of you who were overly critical of her, were right or just spewing on her, while she gathers herself into realizing her actual potential.

Time has told. She has no more potential than the other top 15 players on the LPGA. That has always been her fans motto to wait and see. There are better players than her, end of story.

Yeah, it's easy to say that time has told already, but you can't just picture it black & white. It's not like she had 4 years of 'full' opportunity. She went through turmoil with a career threatening injury for two of those years.

In 2006, after turning pro a couple months prior, she netted an incredible track record in virtually every tournament she played in (8 tournaments with 6 top tens, 1 second, 3 thirds. even better in 2005 in 8 tourneys with 4 top tens, but 3 of them second places and the other a third). Then she broke her wrist and struggled tremendously, even to the point where all of you were trying to claim that she was a fraud, a fluke, a flash-in-the-pan that was never really that good to begin with, and that she would never, ever regain her game.
Well she proved that she had the talent all along, and has now gotten back on track. So if she never had the talent to begin with, why has she emerged to the top 16 this year? And why is she again hitting 300+ yard drives?

You can claim all that about her having time, but reality is that she actually hasn't had enough of an opportunity, due to her young age early on, then due to her injury and loss of confidence, followed by such harsh ridicule that would break even the strongest of wills.

But you're entitled to your opinion, however I disagree, and time 'will' prove my point for me. Period. lol ;)

Mmmmm MKB, you cannot have it both ways. You claim that she has not had many apportunities (I guess 61 LPGA events is not enough. Tell that to Nordqvist, Yani, Paula, Hur, Jiyai, Morgan, and many others) yet you want to brag about how well she did in 2006. You have to take the good with the bad...and her best was still not good enough to win!

Maybe this week... Maybe in her 100th event. By then, I guess she would have had enough opportunities. Who knows when...

No, she has not had four full years of opportunities. Gee, how many full years of opportunities did Jiyai had? Yani? Paula? Morgan? Anna? Hur? Nancy Lopez? Should I go on?

Incredible! Three rookies have already won this year. For her sake (and yours) and hope there is not a fourth one before her.

Her followers seem to have as many excuses as she has had. Part of learning and knowing how to win is getting rid of the excuses. Since you come across as being close to her, lead by example!

Que sera sera...

I'm not making any sort of excuses for her at all. I'm merely pointing out that it isn't just black and white as you all seem to be coloring it.
Yeah she does have 61 or so tournaments under her belt, but many of those were when she was but a child. And many of them were also when she shouldn't have even played, but instead rehabbing from her broken wrist.
So in essence if we truly want to look at her with any semblance of an honest evaluation, she should more realistically be only judged for this year.

And as for the others you mentioned, I'm glad for them that they won so early, but there have been many who won and have never even contended again for anything. Birdie Kim has a Major, haven't made most cuts since. Hur and Nordqvist have won but how many other tournaments have they been a factor all year? Where were they up until they won? Ai Miyazato was highly touted out of Japan, how long did it take her before she finally won?

Not simply black and white bro. There's far more to consider into the mix.
Another thing to consider is how she only had 8 tournaments in 2005 and finished 2nd 'THREE' times! So if those were wins instead of seconds, would you still be that harsh towards her? Or are you still going to hold her to the ultimate standard and call her a failure for coming in 2nd three times out of only 8 tournaments?, and this is when she was 15/16!!

Anyways, it's all good bro, you are entitled to your opinion, I just happen to have a differing one.
And I am just glad for her full recovery from her turmoil of the past couple years. I see great things in the years to comes for her. I hope she looks forward from this year on, and doesn't linger or listen to others about the past.
