This Czaban a-hole is a real jack-ass for attacking Michelle.

She is loving her life in golf and college, Czaban must hate his life. She has the right to choose her own path. She is doing just that! I love her for it.

A wie fan and Czaban hater!

Gee, that is a real nice guy she hooked up with. He wants her career in ruins? I hope I get my wish first, his butt on the unemployment line. And as for the know it all, she can take her trophies back to Sweden and give that green card to someone who deserves it.

Well, Soremstan is right BUT, enough is enough!!.. Wie will not have the focus, mental toughness etc etc UNTIL she graduates from college. I really think Soremstan, in the future, should just say 'no comment' or make a generic comment when asked about Wie. Lets give Wie the benefit of the doubt. After she graduates, hopefully next year she says, then we will find out the truth, although, I do think her stats should be better than they are. I have said before that Wie is living her dream. How many people can say that, and be successful, at least financially??? It will be nice when Wie graduates and then we will all know the real Wie, as far as golf is concerned. Of course, if she is successful then we will have to put up with 'whats going with/in her personal life' reporting (probably).

I think that if anyone knows what it takes to become a Champion in the LPGA it certainly is Annika. She is spot on -- Whether we like it or not, Michelle's past performance and actions do indicate a lack of mental toughness. Going back to her excellent 2006, how many people would have thought that five years later she would still be seeking her first LPGA win in the U.S.? I will add that besides mental toughness, there is much to be learned about winning, and Michelle wasted many opportunities in her vain attempts at making the cut in the PGA. She is not, however, the only one to be blamed -- her dad did plenty of damage. Inasmuch as I dislike Czaban, he does make a great point. Michelle's college education, in my opinion, is just giving her another excuse not to do as well as she could have in the LPGA. Besides being able to say that she got the diploma, really, what good is that for her. Is Paula Creamer any worse of for not getting one? Lets face it -- These ladies, and in particular Michelle, will never have to fall back on that education. Don't get me wrong -- I am a college grad and my kids are currently in college as well, but they are not golf pros or people who made over 20 million dollars before age 20. Michelle will never have any financial worries, and, again, she will never have to fall back on a college degree. Lets not make excuses for her. So many excuses have made her mentally weak...

Made the Cut--I pretty much agree BUT Annika is acting like she has a vedetta against Wie. She has been on Wie's case for quite sometime. There is nothing new for Annika to say so she should just stop. There is nothing wrong with Wie going to college and playing on the LPGA. I have said early on that she should just drop out and play golf. Since she hasn't then we will just have to wait AND, I think Annika ought to do the same thing.

Since when is a young person's decision to get a degree, let alone from as prestigious an institution as Stanford, a sign of mental weakness? Whether she decides to use her degree now or later is her choice. Passing up an opportunity to attend Stanford would have been silly. We want an educated workforce yet we criticize a young woman who puts her education first? There is plenty of time for her to devote her life to golf, let her have the college experience first. Just like any other kid. Like yours for instance. It is HER decision, not yours, not Annika's. And I'd still take away her green card, she's done playing what is she doing in this country still anyway? And I am of 100% Swedish ancestry, lol. I don't get the exemption athletes have in general, Maria Sharapova, for instance calls herself a Russian AND a Florida girl since she's lived there since she was 8. Pick one. Annika should mind her children and tell THEM what to do if she wishes to try, and leave other peoples kids alone. And Dottie Pepper has no more business mouthing off than any other media wonk. Michelle made the decision to get a degree, it was her choice, respect it, and leave her alone. Once she is playing year round and has no more studying, and don't think Stanford doesn't assign homework, we can see how her career develops. She knew what she wanted and she's accomplishing her goal, that is laudable, not wrong in any sense, and certainly no one's business but hers.

From the Hot, Not Hot list at SI. 5. Annika Sorenstam. Critiquing Michelle Wie, she told the L.A. Times, "I think her focus, in my opinion, should be more on golf. She's very distracted with school, doesn't really play as much full time as I thought she would. I think she needs to come out here and compete more regularly." This has gotta be the first time in history anyone has been criticized for pursuing a Stanford degree. Tweet

Agree completely.

Well, in defense of Dottie--She was asked and she gave her opinion--just like any other HOF does, in either tour, see Jack--Arnie etc BUT Dottie hasn't kept up with her negative comments, at least in print, as Annika. So, I say again, Annika needs to be quite or generic.

I don't get the golf channel so if Dottie has made more comments on air about Wie then I apologize for any misstatements above but I have not read any lately like I do from Annika.

Annika is 100% right about Wie. Just look at how Wie has played down the stretch when she's been "there". That's all the evidence anyone needs.

And, there's no green card... she' has US citizenship.

when she was the chosen child at start of her career, she should have kept at it, why give it up, she could have been great, now, she s hardly able to keep up with anyone, she s lost her pace she had in golf, she ll never get it back now, she was alread getting 10 s of millions of dollars just from sponsers, what would college do for her, she should have waited and she would have be the wonder girl of golf....too bad for her....

just look at all the sports athletes who started great in their sport, they came out, they were rookies , they had it and used it, most golf rookies , if they are good, continue with golf, look at some of them out their, you always have time to catch up on college, when your good, your good, continue, or you will loose that touch...
