As I read the article it appeared that there is a failure to communicate in the LPGA. It is hard for me to believe that the decision to find someone else to braodcast tournaments instead of the SBS wasn't/shouldn't have been Ms. Bivens call alone. I feel almost certain that there were other board members who participated in that decision. Sounds like an internal fight for power going on. Someone is not telling the truth to the players about the inner workings of the LPGA's decision making.
Perhaps there are some changes that need to made to speed up the matches. Certainly having caddies lining up putts all the time slows things down. Perhaps putting a limit on either the time allowed to line up putts or limiting the number of putts caddies are allowed to line up.
I don't think banning participants from countries outside the US makes any sense. Look at the NBA or just basketball overall. There has been a huge increase of players from around the world in the NCAA, NBA, and even high school teams. Diversity is a good thing socially as well as economically. This is a global economy/society and competition is rigorous. Foreign players don't seem to have a negative affect on the PGA Tour. It drives American players to practice more and improve their game. Tiger and Phil seem to be doing OK.
