As I read the article it appeared that there is a failure to communicate in the LPGA. It is hard for me to believe that the decision to find someone else to braodcast tournaments instead of the SBS wasn't/shouldn't have been Ms. Bivens call alone. I feel almost certain that there were other board members who participated in that decision. Sounds like an internal fight for power going on. Someone is not telling the truth to the players about the inner workings of the LPGA's decision making.
Perhaps there are some changes that need to made to speed up the matches. Certainly having caddies lining up putts all the time slows things down. Perhaps putting a limit on either the time allowed to line up putts or limiting the number of putts caddies are allowed to line up.
I don't think banning participants from countries outside the US makes any sense. Look at the NBA or just basketball overall. There has been a huge increase of players from around the world in the NCAA, NBA, and even high school teams. Diversity is a good thing socially as well as economically. This is a global economy/society and competition is rigorous. Foreign players don't seem to have a negative affect on the PGA Tour. It drives American players to practice more and improve their game. Tiger and Phil seem to be doing OK.
yes, diversity is always good, except that LPGA is about the only prof. sport in US (or may be in the world) that is dominated by players from single country outside and many host country people just can't take that.

and as for Bivens, she burned her bridges with the media from the start by introducing some stupid idea about banning journalist from the tour unless they sign some kind of waiver (i forgot the details.) and if you're on the wrong side against the media, your days are numbered...

Michelle Wie has made Eleven of Eleven cuts (NO Missed Cuts unlike Morgan Pressel's Three MCs) with five Top Tens and three Top Threes"... Wie's 12th on the Latest LPGA Money List. And, Bivens can't find a way to get the media drawing power of Michelle Wie into this week's Major U.S. Women's Open ... what the ... Heads should roll.

Come on! Bivens use some common sense, easy decision as well as a great marketing strategy of getting this LPGA young "TEEN"ager & talented Michelle playing in the US Women's Open by any means.(Even getting fellow American cutie Natalie Gulbis in would draw men's viewership). So, what more asinine qualifications does Bivens need this year to include her.

The State should build two golf courses on vacant and unused pineapple and cane fields. Also, a structure to take care of accomodations for golfers. The money will be diverted from the DOE contracts which now total $700,000,000 annually. All students after completing their 8th grade will be selected for this golf program. Their curriculum will consist of the necessary core subjects and will be heavy on golf instruction. The golf program will take care of their development expense and also the expenses on the PGA or LPGA tours if and when they qualify. This venture will be an investment if successful and hopefully will be self sustaining in the future. The Korean Government has done it and are reaping the rewards at the present time. We might be more than ten years late, but better late than never.

This MAKES SENSE TO ME. The state should explore this idea.

Another Korean golfer wins an LPGA tour event. This time it is the prestigious U.S. Womens Open. This is not funny anymore. This Korean golf assault will ruin the LPGA tour. The American sponsors will soon be dropping off like flies. You cannot blame them if their money is going to Korea and they don't like it one bit. The sponsors want their money's worth too.

Apples and oranges. Wie cherry picks her tournaments. Did you forget she pulled out of a tourney in April?
If Wie is so good why is the LPGA onESPN2? Where is her so called drawing power this year?

The domination of the Korean golfers on the LPGA ia bringing this organization into a downward spiral. Sponsors are pulling out and fan interest is also dwindling. Pretty soon we won't even have TV coverage because of lack of sponsors. The Korean government must show some restraint before this pot of gold becomes a pot of iron.

A pity this "domination" doesn't include (or benefit) any certain Korean-American golfer born in HI, eh?

You must be a Korean to defend the high number of Korean golfers on the LPGA tour. I am a racist like you but of a different kind. I like to see a good distribution of ethnic backgrounds purely from a point of intrest.

You are at least not a good American when you do not capitalize American. A group of American lady golfers on the LPGA tour are asking the commissioner to step down and one glaring item is the influx of Korean golfers now playing in the LPGA. The Korean Government is smart. Their 20 year golf development plan has matured to a point where the Korean golfers now dominate the LPGA Tour events. It now shows that the LPGA was the most vulnerable spot on the American scene. They took advantage and the Americans cannot criticize but wake up and take some positive actions of their own.

We've seen enough "distribution" of stupid racists like you. Don't you think "point of interest" also depends on what race you are? Haoles will want to see more haoles, Koreans more Koreans, Japanese more Japanese, etc... Just say it - you want to see LPGA dominated by whites!

ban all koreans from the tour
they're overloaded here in hawaii and are stinking up the place
they run cash and carry operations so are a burden to the economy
get rid of all of them nothing but useless third world immigrants who in effect are taking your dollar
worthless taxi drivers who bribe starters at golf courses and worthless bar hostesses who can't even give a decent rim job

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
