I laugh when people think they have to announce they're x Jr fans. Who cares! Buh bye "X"
Keep clicking on the guy's link so he gets the hits he wants with his stupid, rehashed column. Too funny!

If he was overrated then he wouldn't be discussed all the time. Someone is intimidated or he wouldh't be mentioned hence validating he's a good driver which I knew all along.

Actually, being discussed and having praise and attention lauded on you when your performance at your chosen sport/job/hobby/whatever is sub par at best is pretty much the definition of overrated. I don't think Junior EVER intimidated anyone, and by his objective statistics, is, as my name implies, mediocre at best. Which would make him not a good driver. In fact, I would say that his sub par performance in arguably the sports best equipment casts him in an even more horrible light. But hey, at least he sells a lot of memorabilia, right? Too bad championships aren't decided at the souvenier trailer....

Dale Jr is by far the most overrated driver in the history of Nascar. The guy can't drive worth a lick.

actually being talked about all the time while your performance compared to your peers is average at best, is the epitome of overrated.

Dale Jr....Hmmmm. Well you either love him or hate him. I know a lot of fans that could not stand his father as a racer, and like Jr for different reasons entirely. Many of us were there in the beginning. Jr has worked his way through small budgets on dirt tracks, to a championship in the Bush series. He is a good driver and could be a great driver in the cup series. I like all the drivers in the cup series, except for one; that fagot Kyle. As far as junior’s popularity in NASCAR with respect to his performance goes, you just don’t get it. I could try to explain it to you but you would just think I was a naive, diehard fan. Try not to be jealous your driver is not as marketable as Jr, you should be respectful. The Junior’s and Jeff Gordon’s have brought a lot of new fans into the sport, as does any popular athlete, and have helped NASCAR grow into one of the largest sports in the world. Why don’t you spend your energies making fun of someone who deserves it?

It would also be interesting to see when Jr ever had to "work" his way thru anything on a "small budget." He's a spoiled rich kid who has never had to "work" for anything, it's all been handed to him from his famous Daddy. That's why he's having such a hard time now, Daddy ain't there to take care of Baby Bubba anymore and he's out of the family business so the free ride is over. Now, he's learning that he has to "work" to stay in the game, and work is not in his plan. He's losing the grip he had on the "legend" because people are coming to realize he doesn't have the "talent" that we were led to believe that he did. Turns out, talent can't be handed to you, it is something you earn by working for it, Daddy can hand down the fame but you can't milk it forever without working to maintain it.

i'd say he worked real hard this week being on yet another vacation. i guess he don't have to be at the shop to make his team better like the other HMS drivers

He didn't work his way through any dirt tracks but he did work his way through a bunch of 3/8 and 4/10 mile short tracks around North and South Carolina before moving to the Busch Series. When he showed up, he either had to out run them or get his car torn up because of having the Dale Earnhardt Jr. target on his back. Jr. earned his right to come into the NASCAR series. Regardless of how good the equipment was, he was the one that drove to two consectutive champships. No, he doesn't the driving talent his father did, and being popular with the fans doesn't make him over rated. The goof that wrote this piece doesn't understand the difference.

Well "racefan" "and" & "x jr fan" I apologize because I thought that street stock was a dirt track series. Evidently I don't know what I’m talking about. Junior, a rich kid that has had everything handed to him,…paleeese, why don’t you spend some time and read a little before you start to type nonsense. I remember a conversation I had with a young man in the concession stand at a local track in Concord. We chatted a while and I got the impression that this young man, the son of a legend, has worked for everything he has gotten; Daddy taught him a valuable lesson; which was if Junior was going to make it he had to do it on his own. He knows the trials that race teams go through trying to find the income to be competitive. He has a realistic view and doesn’t expect anything from anyone, he doesn’t need it. I know you guys just love to piss off us Junior fans, you remind me of children, jumping at any chance you can to make fun of someone for who they root for, but too afraid to disclose who your favorite driver is. I liked Bobby Allison, and then I liked Rusty Wallace, now I am a Junior fan. I can see why you think Junior is overrated, but I’m convinced it’s just jealousy of his popularity.

where on any of my post that i have stated Jr had everything handed to him? i'm just stating that he don't give a rats azz about his performance on the racetrack or he would spend more time in the race shop other than going on vacation all the time. the other 3 HMS drivers are the ones who deserve a vacation.my favorite driver died in Febuary 2001

I agree that with the poor performances recently that his time off should be spent doing "something" race related, maybe practicing pit stops or spending time in the garage helping to set up his car.

Spending time setting up the race car is more important than Vacation time. JMHO!

The only reason he gets talked about anymore is because he's not winning and he is overrated. What else is there to say about him? Ya all ran out of excuses to talk about all week, MONTHS AGO!
