This is an all time low, comparing personalities of golfers. Why not compare the customs of folks in England or Scotland to folks from Shanghai. They are completely different but that doesn't make one culture better or worse than the other. Woods and Michelson are entirely different people. Their environment, cultural backgrounds and yes... even their methods of playing golf are different. It sounds like the writer and others want to change Woods to be the individual they think he should be instead of who he is.

Golfers aren't meant to be buddies with journalists. There are a lot of celebs who don't sign autographs or smile when on camera. I can only imagine what it would have been like if Woods would have started signing a few autographs, it would have been like a feeding frenzy. Did you see that huge crowds of people following Woods in Shanghai, maybe a bit scary.

Let's just stick to golf. Remember the old Avis car rental commercial, "we're number two we try harder". I'm not saying the Mr. Michelson is plastic but when you are number two and getting older being popular can be pretty gratifying because according to other successful golfers, Woods hasn't reached his peak yet.
