Look up PNAC & US weapons deals. US takeover plan starting w/Iraq. Do your research people. Its called war games. Citizens who join military are the puppets. Human casualties are not important to the fat greedy pigs in government who get rich. They pretend it is but actions speak louder than words.

You are so wrong... it's completly opposite. USA want that pipelines (its in hands of brits... known as extended-USA-arm). US cannot stand to watch russian economy growing while problems at home is getting bigger and bigger. US make this mess, and should take responsabilities for it and pay the price.

Check out the stories behind south stream and north stream pipelines and Nabucco.

Rescued who? By shooting anyone with a Georgian surname, by looting villages? Putin doesnt care about Ossetia he cares about the pipeline.

I hope the US takes out those Russian tanks in Georgia and soon. I am living for the moment when I can watch on television the tanks being blown to bits by US planes. I will bring popcorn and invite all of my neighbors to join me.
I hope Russia doesn't leave Georgia so we can drop some bombs on them that say "FOR PUTIN"
and "I LOVE GEORGIA".
Have a nice day.
Be more precise: "I love THOSE LICKING MY ASS". Today they are georgians. Tomorrow will be Ukranians. Good night bloody yankee!

People, don't believe what Russians say. The fact that Georgia has started the conflict is true, but the motive behind it was different from what Russians say. Russia has been preparing for a long time already for this war. In order to find the reason to do so, it has been encouraging Ossetian separatists to bomb Georgian villages. This was followed by our response fire and this was then transformed into quite a large scale action. People! How do you think? If Russia did not plan this war beforehand, how could it bring in up to 1000 tanks in 24 hours? Everything is so clear!

SHORT HISTORY: The Soviet Union collapse in 1991, after which many republics (including the greater Georgia) separated from Russia. At the same time Abkhazia and South Ossetia (both are republics within Georgia) decided to separate from Georgia itself. After a civil war (which I lived through) between Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, in the year 1992 an agreement has been reached to give Abkhazia and South Ossetia independence. FOR 16 YEARS ABKHAZIA AND SOUTH OSSETIA HAVE BEEN INDEPENDENT FROM GEORGIA. Georgians, Ossetians, and Abkhazians are different ethnics groups.
Now, Georgia wishes to take back South Ossetia and Abkhazia....
You are deliberately misinforming fine folks here. First, there was never an agreement to grant these regions an independence. Second, Abkhazia did not by itself wanted to separate. That is, the majority of residents there did not support an independence from Georgia. What Russia did was they drove 300,000 people out of Abkhazia, from their homes, into other Georgian regions. Any referendum now is invalid because more then 50% of pre-civil war population are not living there due to ethnic cleansing of russians.
Just because you don’t want to admit the truth doesn’t mean you should change facts.

Way back when, Stalin gave his home country Georgia some land because he decided that it should be a least a little bigger. The people in that region didn't really like that, and for some time tried to seperate. So this region generally weren't too peaceful with Georgians, probably. So now, Georgia increased it's military with the help of US, and wiped out a few villages. Since most of the people there identified themselves as Russians, Russian naturally went in and protected some people (this is shown by the fact that most refugees were running towards Russia). Georgians get ticked off that Russians are killing the soldiers they sent in, so they bring more in again with the help from US. To prevent more soldiers from coming, Russia decides to blockade Georgia, and then the cease-fire between Georgia and Russia was called. Now about the pipe-line, we should think about who has more incentive to control it, Russia-which has plenty as is, or US who could use as much as possible right now.

I'm not saying that this is exactly what happened but this is just my opinion on what I think that happened, and many people (CNN for one) re-wrote the facts to get a national sentiment for what ever each country is doing.

Right I forgot some parts.
To Tengo: The tanks and army guys were already there because they have been there for a long time, because of border disputes. After some war, there were a lot of border issues between Georgia and South Osetia. So the they sent a couple Russian squads over there so things don't get out hand. The first couple days of the war was with only those squads, new ones were called in a few days after the war started.

And some news: Russia has never stepped into Georgian soil, they only fly over it. It has also come to my attention, that a group of people got hold of some Russian uniforms, and use them to antagonize the Russian army. Both countries have closed the other consulates (so the Georgia closed Russian consulate and vice versa). This is kind of a problem for different Russian stars (Akunin and Miladze, if you know who they are, come to mind).

To Georgian (from NYC, NY): At least S. Osetia was granted independence for at least 15~16 years.
