Yawn is right. What is the purpose of listing a retired person's place of employment and salary. The guy doesn't work there. Writer seems to implicate the ex employer. Good Grief.

obviosly you were one of the people there since you know so much about the building and such.Crime is crime little man. I guess rape, burglary, or family abuse should be ignored if it takes place in a mobile home subdivision with a porti potty. Get real!! It sounds like you were playing at the fancey joints you could afford.

They lost at the poker game, got pissy and arrested them lol... What exactly is commercial poker? Did they charge a fee to play poker? Thats the only way I can think of would be illegal? Right? Somebody help me out here.

So this is what I found for New Mexico

30-19-3. Commercial gambling.

Commercial gambling consists of either:

A. participating in the earnings of or operating a gambling place;

B. receiving, recording or forwarding bets or offers to bet;

C. possessing facilities with the intent to receive, record or forward bets or offers to bet;

D. for gain, becoming a custodian of anything of value, bet or offered to be bet;

E. conducting a lottery where both the consideration and the prize are money, or whoever with intent to conduct a lottery, possesses facilities to do so; or

F. setting up for use, for the purpose of gambling, or collecting the proceeds of, any gambling device.

Whoever commits commercial gambling is guilty of a fourth degree felony.

We have the same thing going on in my neighborhood, it's been happening for years! The police have done nothing. When the streets are full of cars from 10 pm - 8 am, our sidewalks are littered with beer bottles and cans, the wives of these gamblers are screaming at them on the street to get home to their families, and the person having the "parties" is reportedly clearing close to $10,000 a week, it's a problem!!

WOW!! Finally someone who understands whats going on! You know these people are making money since they charge just to get in the door, oh and not to mention the house gets a cut! I wonder who owns the house DUH? Im sure there isn't anyone who would want this in their neighborhood unless they were the ones playing. There is nothing wrong with having a few people over whether it's to play cards or just to visit. But come on, when it's 2 times a week, there is no parking available, and these games go from 6 or 7 pm to between 3 and 5 am, I'd say there's a problem. Everything could be solved if they'd keep it in the casinos!! I feel like I'd be justified in saying that we (the neighbors) don't have a problem with William Barela and his family; our problem is with what he is doing to our neighborhood.

What's the big "deal?"

Poker games and card games happen every weekend among neighbors, family and friends.

This is a waste of time and print!

What about playing bingo at showers, birthdays, etc?

Must of use have participated in a friendly game at one time or another, how about football pools?

Get a life Sun-News and you "saints!"

Bill Fox is NOT a scumbag. You should think about what you call people before you type cruel things. Everyone makes mistakes. He's a nice guy.

You know, I have looked at several other articles in the Sun News and do not find any salaries listed. This seems prejudicial to me. Sure they were being stupid and doing things that got them into trouble but good lord! salary info is not needed. Perhaps someone should let us know what people at the paper make so we can see how it compares. Just listing their places of employment are bad enough.

Where a person is employed or how much money they make is not the issue at hand. I think people should look at the charges and await the outcome and not tarnish peoples lives with nonsense of where or how much they make.

In fact, would the Sun-news print; 3 unemployed men whom have never worked in their lives were arrested today for gambling. This is not headline news people only to do harm to businesses that were not involved. Sorry but i dont get it, i mean the connection.
