Its not actually RISK but its a very similar game. I started to play 4 or 5 days ago. Love it :)

Conquerclub blows. I want to play risk or an identical game online, multiplayer, in real time. Not some ultra lame one turn a day crap.

Actually conquerclub has realtime games during which turns are limited to I think it is five minutes.

I just wanted to mention that a good to play against other people is http://letsplayrisk.com . It's totally free. It doesn't even have ads on it.

There are tons of places to play Risk online.

Landgrab.net is a great place to play realtime risk.Lots of maps,lots of players online and clickable maps(no dropdown menus)

The best Risk gaming site I've found is WarGear. They have Public / Private games, realtime (lightning) play, tournaments, 60+ game boards and it's all free. Highly recommended

If you want to play the classic game of risk. Pogo games has one. its not some cheap rip off or 1 turn a day piece of junk. its just the normal risk

LandGrab is the best one I have found. Real time, proper games, with all the bells and whistles. Lots of maps. Lots of options. Lots of players. There is even a tournament for cash being set up at this time if your brave enough. Tis the best I have found.

The reviews at http://www.playriskonline.net/ are ok to some extent, but Conquer Club doesn't deserves second place.

Conquer Club has no real-time play until you rank up and ranking up takes ages when you are forced to wait 24 hours per players turn. Playing is horrible as it's mainly text base with drop down menus (pick the land you want to attack from a list, ugh). And it just doesn't look/feel good.

http://www.majorcommand.com/ looks promising but is still in closed beta so you need to get accepted. Perhaps in the future Major Command will rule.

If you read the review for Land Grab at http://www.playriskonline.net/#LandGrab-Risk there is much praise for the game which I agree with. The main gripe of the review seems to be LG's interface... which is absolutely fine. Far, far better than Conquer Club's in fact. The community is busy - playing games. And there is a 'Trivia' panel on the main page that tells you exactly how many people are online at that time. I haven't ever seen the numbers drop below 200 but is usually over 300, and there are over 62,000 registered users and currently 2500 active games. That's allot of people playing. The community is thriving so I can't really agree with the review above. Perhaps it's abit dated?

Anyway, Land Grab definitely gets my vote.

So I have been playing risk online for many years and have a mild addiction to the game.

I have tried all of the sites out there, conquerclub, landgrab and others. Some have good game play, while others look good. I haven't played 'the complete package' yet. Something that is well designed but has a great risk game play inside of it.

I got a Beta invite to a new site and if early indications are anything, they are going to do very well it. This might be my new full time game site.

This risk site has the rare combination of professional design and slick interface layered on top of a classic risk game.

See if you can get a beta invite - I had to fight for mine :-)

You forgot to mention the players have to fill in this VERY detailed information where the player lives, like big-brother in risk ffs..

Blip.se had this AWESOME real-time Risk game,
altough it only had a map of Europe with North-Africa,+ the Levent.
the players had like max 1-3 mins too make its turn and usually it were very fast. It wasn't called "risk" it was called more like "General" or somethin' like that.

Sadly Blip.se was deleted for unknown reasons and i havn't found anything near that since then.. really dissapointed!
