Great to see a lively discussion on here....... Going out to the desert soon ourselves.......to teach our young to enjoy the many spiritual views that Mother Earth has hidden there to be discovered...... can anyone suggest Motel/Hotel's near the Casino or travel center?
It takes a special patience and elders wisdom of the visions before your eyes to appreciate the hidden beauty and wonders of the deserts....... I have family who have all ancestry including Native American....... my immediate family have been in this area for 300 years......and we love it.... My Great Grandmother does not speak much but she is Smiling at me because i asked her what she thought of "Indian Casinos" and she chuckled and said..... "patience always will win in the end..... we are taking back our lands.... our America... a penny and a nickel at a time...... " |

i had worked there since close to their opening. i was a break in dealer, the staff there in the pit taught me much about the industry. they pride themselves on service to patrons at all costs.
it is a smaller place than many, but the small town feel is refreshing to me. as for the security staff, they have many facets to their responsibilities: they are not armed, there are 2 sherrifs for the 35 mile long salton sea beach area so therefor must stay on their toes most all the time, the tribal guys i worked with were really good people, i worked another casino, once i left there, and would see them come in and play from time to time and they were always very nice to everyone. the security staff is comprised of everything from retired police and corrections officers, to ex military personel, to newbies as well. these guys (and gals) take orders from tribal people, to surveillance people, to pit bosses, and they are very in tune with their responsibilities even though they have many things to be watchful of.(as does any casino) my experiences there were good, and my players always had a good time playing at my tables. you see: gaming security issues are sometimes more needed at a smaller, newer place, with many breakin dealers, since players who may try to cheat find it a target, thinking "this little casino has no clue". So they need be on their toes and watchful of new faces for many reasons. but anyone who says their experience was less than enjoyable, because of security personel observing them, might need reconsider their own actions when in such an establishment. I found my co-workers to be awesome to work with, and very sincere, and good folks to work with. im glad for the experiences and friends i made there. I know this casino will do very well, even in these more financially challenging times. go BET ON RED. My best to the TM tribe and the casino as well. |

Good luck from a local -- the Torres Martinez enterprise is a very valuable asset to the west shores of the Salton Sea!

Slowfingers,
You are absolutely right. There is no better place to put your children in touch with nature and the real world. I congratulate your grandmother -- she is abosolutely right. Your heritage is regaining it's rightful ownership of this beautiful country (through the back door). Good luck to you and her; and thank you for allowing me to experience it. I would live no where else! |

Hey is this toilet still open or did it turn into yet another IE methlab hotbed?
Oh yeah and how are all your property values going now, bitch! |

I have been there 3 times and always stop when I am in the area. Overall, it's a decent casino, but nothing compared to other Indian casinos in CA, rather a large schhol gym sized place with machines and a few tables. They even offer a free "flyswatter" if you sign up for their players club, no I'm not joking. My only real complaint is the drinks suck really bad, can't even tell if there is booze in it, I guess that's why they are so cheap.

Please save your money the red earth casino is just a place in now where land
That preys on its community as we get bored and go there not much to do In this town. The payoff is not to standard they will suck up money from you Like crazy even if you only play 0.50 a roll. The workers are not nice they make no Effort in that casino to make you feel welcome. I think they should be looked at By gaming authorities there is something wrong with the picture there? The jobs They bring to the community is not enough to outstand the damage they do to The community and we are not just talking about the money they just do not Give back in any way. |
