Private Health Insurance the "Worst Product in American History": Former Industry Shill

For one thing, health insurance is a service, not a product. Private health insurance is one of the few products or services that has not been driven overseas by government regulations and taxes. The only way to make American health services cheaper is to reduce labor costs and that means massive layoffs. Don't look for government to ease health industry regulations or taxes during this administration. Won't happen.
Beware, India is right now offering to provide America with swine flu vaccines for 25% less than current prices. Labor costs are the reason they can make this offer and not having to comply with US government regulations.

Kudos to Andy Cobb. It's a big ask to request "spokesjerks" to "walk away from their cash cows"; people need to make a living and we outside the business can be advocates. But it's good to see Mr Cobb do the right thing, and we can celebrate his choice.

we can bring jobs back when other countries agree to raise their minimum wage from 8 cents an hour to what our minimum wage is here. maybe when Obama is President of the World, this can be accomplished.

What major "labor costs" do you think are associated with insurance?

I know the major insurers have hundreds of employees who spend their days rejecting claims, and arguing with customers. Is that what you mean?

WTF.. If ANY public option goes through time to quit my job I have enough time in to collect Social Security when I'm old enough stay home and enjoy myself.. Let the 18-30 year olds work their butts off to pay the tax increases since those are the majority that voted for Obama..

Health care jobs aren't minimum wage. Hospital employees earn from $40,000 to $400,000 a year.
In Cuba doctors earn $35 a month. Some of them pick food crops after work to supplement their family dinner tables. Michelle's obama gardens may not be too far off for the American middle class.

Have an emergency pool/fund that they can apply for....with the effeciency of the govt, they oughta be able to wade thru the red tape in oh 5-7 years. I got news for you, the govt is not the solution, the govt is the problem.
