A trial offer of anti-malware is nothing new and nothing to get excited about. If anything, it gives an uneducated user a false sense of security and a lot of confusion when the trial period expires.

OEM vendors would do a far better service to customers by providing a one year subscription and charge a few dollars more. Good security is marketable.
