Judged: 1 A reader points out a straightforward way for Windows users to transfer music from an iPod to your hard drive, without extra software: Steps 1: Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it. steps 2: Enter the iPod from the "My Computer",we can see that there is a Music folder. steps 3: In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders." Okey, view all documents and folders, we can see a hidden called iPod_Control folder. steps 4: Open, but also to see a Music folder. The whole song here, great! drag or copy them into a folder on your hard drive. Notes:But there is a problem, the song's title is garbage characters (or the iPod itself is confusion code), you need to check the attributes of songs (or use players Audition) will know which song is. And then selective copying. Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC To share music back and forth between your iPod and a computer (Mac or PC) you need to set your iPod to update manually rather than to sync automatically with iTunes. Thanks for this. I only needed to salvage a few albums that I accidentally deleted, so this way easier than doing the manual itunes override. |

Hi everyone.
One of my friends had put remixs of songs onto my ipod and whenever i try to listen to any of my 300 songs, right in the middle of the song it freezes. Then i would reset the ipod and it keeps doing the same thing over and over again. Is there any free program that i can transfer my ipod songs onto my computer so that i can save the songs and then delete them from my ipod and then put it back. I had deleted all the remixs i had. Please reply back. |

you would install itunes and then plug your iPod into the computer. it will show an icon on iTunes that indicates your iPod is plugged in. |

I have been curious about this topic for quite sometime. I just have an issue with itunes and how everything you buy can basically disappear at any given time. But I guess this would make the purchase more worthwhile. So I guess I can get one now. http://www.unlockwholesale.com

The first post is the best one. All the folders wont be named and the titles of songs wont be there, but you should still be able to see the artist and album info. I haven't found any software good for extracting your music off you ipod, it's better in the end to do it manually.

You can restore your ipod or iphone music using a free app called GizmoRip. Here is the url:
http://www.gizmorip.com This will copy ipod music, videos and playlists back into iTunes or if you don't have iTunes, it will copy your albums and songs to your hard drive and rename them to a user friendly filename. Works great. I have even used it on my ipad! |

wow where are the answers?!
