Great one wrote: Try dry white rice or sicilla gel it will dry it out if this doesnt work try crackin the sucker open and using a blowdryer FORGET THE RICE and just take it apart-after all what do you have to lose-this is what I did and left it open for 1 week, do not plug it in after you get it out of the wash or water and just let it dry. I took a hair dryer to it after I split it in half. Be careful not to touch screen as this will leave marks on your screen, I still do not have anything on my screen but after it started playing again I didn't really mind but have read that the screen will come back over time. Good Luck and say a little prayer that you don't have to purchase another one! Lesson learned:check all pockets even if you know nothing is in them!

hi everyone, i put my ipod in my sweater after i finished listening to it. After school i went to do my laundry and i forgot about it. I took it out and plugged it in my computer. It worked fine, then out of the computer it didn't work. Then i looked on this website and people said not to plug it in OPPS!(DONT PLUG IT IN ANYTHING FOR AT LEAST A WEEK) anyway, i took my blow dryer and blasted it on high at the screen ( not too close or it will melt ) and then i wrapped it in warm towels.
The ipod should be wrapped in the towels over night. Keep reheating them and to this for 4-5 days. Next fill a mug or bowl full of WHITE rice. Then place the ipod in the middle of the bowl. Sit the bowl somewhere where it won't be disturbed, by a window might be a good choice.
Back to the story. I did all of these things and two weeks later i turned it on successfully. That was two months ago and now it's practically brand new. My ipod is a purple nano chromatic 4th generation and its great!
Keep trying, don't lose faith. Don't go out and buy a new ipod just yet. NO MATTER WHAT DO NOT TRY TO CRACK OPEN YOUR IPOD. THIS WILL JUST CAUSE FUTURE PROBLEMS. READ THE WARANTY MANUAL FOR MORE INFORMATION ON ENTERNAL PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. DON'T OPEN IT.
ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE THE NANO CHROMATIC DONT TRY OPENING IT, YOU CAN'T. YOU'LL BREAK IT. YOU NEED TO SMASH IT TO PIECES IN ORDER TO OPEN IT :) I DONT THINK YOU WANT TO DAMAGE IT BEYOND REPAIR.
thank you and e-mail me with questions. thank you

just let it dry for one week, right after finding it in the washer/dryer. dont. touch. it. dont mess with the hold, dont press play, dont hold down the center button, just let it dry. then, plug it in. it may take a few moments, but then, it should turn on. If it doesnt work, even after putting on the usb, try the halfway idea. Not working even then? Sorry, mate, its probably dead.
