"Try to deleted the file "ipod photo cache" and resync the photo file fixed my problem in iPhone. I would think the problem is similar for the ipod! Good Luck to all!"
This TOTALLY worked for me. Just delete the contents of your current ipod photo cache, then re-sync.
Thanks!

I got the error can't sync because file cannot be found on my wife's iphone. with her device the error was it had lost all of the synced photos and it was trying to sync the photos from under my profile (yes her iphone is a hand-me-down). It had been able to this before but now it's not. I turned off photo sync and it's working fine.
My advice with these apple "idevices" is only sync what will not let you manually manage!

i came to this super late, but my iphone just did this to me. i removed (uncheck "sync") all music and photos from my phone (the error is usually a corrupt file, either music or photos), synced it, then rechecked to transfer and sync again. it took a while but deleting then rewriting the files on the iphone worked and it's back to normal

I disconnected for the USB hub, and connected to a different USB port (one of the ports off the motherboard) and that resolved the issue. <quoted text> Thanks boss. Your solution worked first. I don't know why my ipod and the front panel usb don't get along, but the motherboard usb did just fine.

I am going to try all these great ideas when I get home tonight. I now have 2 ipods with the same error message "cannot find required file" At first I thought it was my ipod, its 80gb, it started freezing up during songs and I'm not able to sync it anymore. So I went out and bought a new one a 16 gb Nano, and now after about 9 months, its doing the same thing, but not freezing up. I have tried re-installung itunes a few times. I will try the reset when I get home, and another usb port. Would be so nice to have two functioning ipods.
