My iPod shuffle won't play..help me!

look my ipod has problems ever since i listened to it last time you could only hear it from one side then it ran out of battery then i try to recharge it and put new songs in it then nothing the itunes thing wouldn't reconize it but the light turn orange but when i take it out to lisen to it to see if it works nothing just a solid orange light when connected man im so frustedated plz help me ITS AN IPOD SHUFFLE

i plugged my 512 shuffle into my computer the red light came on then it turned off & a little bubble came up saying the usb device had malfunctioned, now the ipod wont turn on, charge or be recognized in any computer can anyone help?????
