F acebook has given itself a makeover. Now the question becomes, how big of a trim will its third-party partners get? "I'm expecting a 20 percent haircut in my numbers," said Michael Dalesandro, the chief ...

I hate the new look. I liked the individual website design better!!!

I'm totally with you, Eric. We have a series of pages now. Hmm. And, the new app layout on a whole separate location will get nowhere near the eyeballs. I do feel sorry for the app developers.

Like you, I enjoyed being able to scroll down one long page and see at-a-glance the various apps and activities. Now, I can't collapse/expand apps for easy of moving around. And, it seems the Wall and Mini-Feed are combined and confusing.

I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough. It does have a real clunky and confusing feel at first, though!

Cheers,
Mari

OK, I just tried it out, and I like it. I didn't like the way everything was crammed together in the old layout, and most of my apps were invisible unless I expanded them manually. I like the tidy, spread out look. Of course, I am a technical writer, and seeing everything all crammed in such a small space drove me crazy. Change can be a good thing! I use Firefox as my browser, so I'm used to navigating with tabs. And I'm old!!=^..^= Not anywhere close to college age. My daughter's in college, and she invited me to join.

I love facebook but I don't mess with much of the extra apps. Apparently I am a minority though, as these apps (not to mention ads) have proved highly lucrative. Web 2.0 has really expanded business and advertisement medians.

Social networking sites like Facebook need to revamp their communities in order to grow and compete.

I like the new design and functionality. Facebook is an invaluable tool for any online marketing efforts.
