Complaints grow about PG&E SmartMeters

I was pretty much convinced that there was a problem with the Smart Meters but, since I still had bills in my possession for comparison, I decided to chart my usage over the past three years.

Our Smart Meter was installed in November, 2007. To my surprise, with one exception, the usage measured through the Smart Meter has not varied much from the usage recorded before it was installed. Sometimes more, sometimes less but always within reason.

The one exception was an exorbitant usage one month that could not be justified (three times more than the year before or the year after).

I'm sure there are Smart Meters that are defective and should be replaced but, based on my own experience, it is not universal. Everyone should keep a record of their usage and make their own comparisons as I don't expect PG&E's investigation to prove these meters are faulty.

Well, based on my own personal experience, you obviously have a problem with your meter. If you don't have success with PG&E in replacing it and issuing you a refund for over-charges, I suggest you call your congressman. Works wonders every time.
