Civil servants take to French streets to protest job cuts, low salaries

If you dont like what your job pays go get a different one. Go back to a school and get more education for a higher paying job. Put down the wine and cheese and better your self and your salary.

You seem really worked up about the French civil servants' welfare. Is that any business of yours, or are you just passing by and spewing your garbage as usual?

The problem Captain, is that this is not America we're talking about, this is France the land of "jobs for life", and top heavy government.
The unemployment rate runs around 9%, and probably 40% for immigrants. Nobody wants to hire because after a couple of weeks trial period you cannot sack your work-shy employee without government intervention.
If an employee does somehow get themselves fired,(usually on purpose because they just quit coming to work) they can go straight on unemployment benefit at 2/3 their normal wage.
Now French president Sarkosy is trying to push through a bill which allows workers to quit their jobs and collect benefit.
What France needs is a "Margret Thatcher" to bring down the Unions, downsize the government and bring back fiscal responsibility.

Captain A's view on France are well known for anyone who takes time to read the various posts he put on this forum for the last year. Captain A never cease to criticise France, often wrongly or without the right information. Captain A has an obsession about France and do not post on other forums.

The truth is that Captain A, by his own confession, despises France, thinks it's a country of "unwashed commies faggots", "lazy liberal cowards" and "gay jigadists" or "white flag surrender monkeys" who are wrong not to start a crusade and expell all the muslims from their country.

Captain A was most upset by France's refusal to join the USA in the Iraqi war, and accused my country of being pro-Saddam no less. So, on that basis, I feel no restrain in giving Captain A a taste of his own medicine and criticise his country to, as a nation of ill-informed, under-educated, highly opiniated, cultureless blowhard braggard bullies without finess, class or principles.

INside their borders, American affairs to not interest me. Outside yes, since American hegemony affects everyone.

This board would not be the same without Mr Robispierre to side with every evil despot dictator , communist regime, Tax, Union, murdering Muslim group, Politically correct corrupt political party and of course the Leftist liberal French government and their politics of cowardice. I agree with you that America needs to get out of a lot of world affairs. We need to concentrate on our own country alright. We hemorrhage money everywhere in the world and are destroying our currency and my children's future by this crazy spending. I really want the U.S. to become isolationist again, the world can take care of their own problems unless a Hitler type threat comes up again. I want the U.S. to be an Economic superpower and have the military muscle at home to take care of any threats. I don't like the way my government is in world affairs Robbie, I make have fun with it but in a way I agree with you that America needs to out back a lot. America dose a lot of good things around the world but we need to let countries take care of them selves. many Americans could use some of that 100 billion dollars of foreign aid to fix things right here at home. I may not be a highly educated snob but I have a fair ammount of common sense about people and the world at large. I find that many so called educated people have a very warped sense of humanity and Good and Evil. Like I said you cant just wish good feelings and vanquish Evil.....Ill try and tone down the sarcasm for a while and debate on the merits of the postings. If America didn't exist Robespierre, would the world be better off?
