We head to Ferraris home tack, Monza. With Hamilton ahead in points followed by Webber close behind. What does this race hold for us? mclaren claiming it should suit their car best and ferrari eager to put a good performance at home, not to mention redbulls pace that may play into webbers chances.. we can all expect a close fight for victory. Good luck to the teams, drivers and fans. On to the Monza GP!

Stefano Domenicali said to Corriere dello Sport that if Monza goes especially badly and the difference to Red Bull would grow, then they will switch their personnel and resources from this car to next year's car on Monday.

Last time I picked hambo, webber and massa in the top 5.Not hard really but it's the order which is unpredictable.Damn i knew i should have stuck kubica in too and Alonso/Ferrari screwed up because of Qualli.

Whatever happens happens in Monza! Alonso has 1 engine change left for the remaining races and doesn't seem worried about it.They can still use old engines for practice.
Good luck Alonso! Don't stress out! Just focus on your own performance to drive better and better.Keep it simple once the set up is right!

I thought I would post Jaime Alguersuari's mid-field report! LOL He's one of my favourite drivers:)

“By now, I’ve got over the disappointment of losing my point for tenth place in Spa, even if I never expected to get that sort of penalty as I did not make up any places as a result of the move I made on track, nor did I make up much time. But it was a very difficult situation to evaluate given the track conditions at the time. But it happened, so you get over it and move on. In general, I was quite happy with my performance in Belgium, because I did my best and that will be the same philosophy this weekend in Monza.

“This past weekend, I was in Warsaw, Poland for a couple of days to attend a Red Bull event, where I ended up taking on the winner of a go-kart race, as well as all the usual media work, interviews and so on. Mark Webber was also there, which gave us a chance to talk and get to know one another, as we never really have an opportunity to do so at the races. This was my first time in Poland and I was able to visit parts of Warsaw, which was very interesting. I have always liked learning about history, particularly the Second World War, so I was glad that I got the opportunity to see old parts of the city, including the old Jewish ghetto area, where you could still see the holes in the walls from the bullets and artillery fire. It made a big impression on me, thinking of the events that had happened there.

“Back home in Barcelona, I have also been working on my studio to get it ready to do some recording when I have a bit more time in the winter and apart from that, it has been the usual routine of training and chilling a bit at home. But now I can’t wait to pack my bag and head for Italy and the next race this weekend. Monza was always a good track for me when I raced here in the junior formulas, getting some strong results and in my second year of driving a Formula One car at the circuit I expect a lot more than I did last year. My initial target will be to make sure I qualify in the top 15 at least. The races at Monza are always awesome, both to drive and to watch, because of the high speeds and the fact this is the one circuit where you can really slipstream other cars, which is an interesting experience, so I am keen to see how our car works on this track.”

True! and a good way to motivate the team for MONZA! CAUSE mONZA is a Bonza with Alonza and the Tifonza

Dominicalli also said : "Alonso reminds me very much of Schumacher.

"Since I've been with Ferrari, I have not seen a driver who has as strong a presence in Maranello, and follows all of our activities with the same conviction" as the Spaniard, he added.

The whole story goes like this - what a gesture towards Massa :(- anyway, Bob probably understands now how pissed I was with Domenicali's statements last year:

Domenicali was also asked his opinion about the accusations of the fans, that Alonso hasn't been able to do the same things in Ferrari than Schumacher in his days.

– I think the situation is completely opposite. Alonso reminds me of Schumacher very much. Both came in the team with the same leader's attitude. I think in a slightly arrogant way - positively speaking. Ever since I've been in Ferrari no other driver has spent as much time at the factory as Alonso. He participates in every activity as committed as Schumacher and can this way build a good relationship with the team.

– If Fernando has made many mistakes it's because he wants to show who he is. The red overall is very heavy and more heavier than it looks on the outside. Fernando has overpressure but just like all champions his value will come forth in the long run, Domenicali assures.

– Felipe has to find the real balance in his relationshiop with Fernando. Felipe has grown a lot in Ferrari. He is a driver who's best sides come forth in the crucial moments when the pressure is the hardest, Domenicali stated.

And the 'beloved' Turrini ;) Seriously, good luck to Ferrari today!

Ferrari; Three hypotheses for Paris
Published by Leo Turrini Mon, 06/09/2010 - 11:55

Ferrari will be in front of the FIA World Council in Paris on Thursday for the event in Hockenheim, slowing 'voluntary' Massa for the benefit of Alonso, who then wins the race. In Ferrari they are confident of the outcome. After 48 hours of meeting associates, Jean Todt announced that he will not participate in the Council, for obvious reasons of convenience and memory ...) There are three hypotheses that can be reasonably discussed.

1) The Council decides not to decide. Ferrari has already been sanctioned in Germany with the famous fine of one hundred thousand dollars. No one would lose face and I would burst out laughing.

2) The Council believes that Ferrari has exaggerated. And they have 'the smoking gun': the audio recording of Alonso screaming 'This is ridicolous' when Massa doesn't let him past. Since when has a driver the right to consider the proper conduct of a colleague who is in front ridiculous? The reaction of the Spanish shows that the Brazilian was violating an agreement they had before the start. We face a clear alteration of developments in the German GP. Penalize the Scuderia: zero points. But no punishment for the drivers. For the Horse it would be half a humiliation but still manageable.

3) The Council rules. The rules are clear and they have been broken. I know that some members of the World Council have been handed a dossier showing that the major betting agencies, from July 25th, stopped getting bets because of what happened between the Brazilian and Spanish, which did enormous damage to the credibility of F1, from Oceania to Asia via Europe and North America. To me however, an outcome that dramatic is almost unbelievable. It would be the burial of di Montezemolo in Ferrari, it would be a disaster for the Banco Santander, which matters a lot in the pits and not only in the environment of 'red', it would be a shock for Maranello at the eve of the Grand Prix at Monza and it would certainly unleash hell, them turning immediately to the Court of Paris ...

I think it was very clear for everyone except for Argentinians that Maradona was a problem. Still... this match was played for publicity and the sponsors. The real thing was in the World Cup and you know who won. ;o)

I fear to say this but I agree with you GWO ... the best thing Argentinian football did was to get rid of that horrible short assed drug snorting alcoholic gnome .... now kick his emulator Messi out too and maybe they can go forward and gain the respect of the football world ... it was a great day watching Germany destroy Argentina at the World Cup, and to see Diego's face as it all unfolded, especially after his trash talking of the Germans leading up to the match ...

Massa has on many occassions gone looking for beaches! LOL He probably misses the great beaches in Brazil!
Too many examples to list but one that sticks out was when he beached himself in Malaysia 2008 which ended his race although nothing wrong with the car.

Talking Monza,
Here's Alonso's history there.
2001 in the slowest car Minardi Alonso finishes 13th.Montoya wins the race in a Williams

2002 Alonso swaps roles with Renault test driver Webber.Alonso becomes Renault test driver and Webber races for Minardi for the year.

2003; Alonso finishes 8th in the Renault.Schumacher 1st,Montoya 2nd Barri 3rd.

2004; Alonso finishes 4th in the Renault behind Schumacher who spins on the 1st lap.
Barrichello 1st,Montoya 2nd,Schumi 3rd.

2005; Alonso get's his 1st podium at Monza behind a mclen Kmi 1st,Montoya 2nd.

2006; FIA penalises Alonso with ridulous penalty of impeding Massa in Qualli when Alonso was always 100 meters ahead!
Alonso's engine blows up in the race after making ground after his 10 place grid penalty.
Schumi 1st.Kmi 2nd.Kubica 3rd in only his 3rd race.

2007; Alonso wins in the McLaren after dominating practice and qualifying. He pulls away from hamilton from the start.Lewy 2nd,Kimi 3rd.

2008; With the crappy renault,Alonso finishes 4th in a wet race after wet qulifying.heidfeld,Massa, webbe r,hamilton, kimi are unable to close the gap on Alonso during the race.
Vettel 1st,Kovalainen2nd,Kubica 3rd.

2009; In an even worse Renault than the 2008 version with renault concentrating most of their efforts on the 2010 car,Alonso qualifies 8th and finishes 5th.
Barrichello 1st in a brawn 1-2.Button 2nd and Kimi 3rd for Ferrari.

DNF .... oops sorry did I say that out loud ...

damn, that's a great record GFG, average over the years he's been driving gives him 7th place year on year ... hmmm that sounds about right for the great pretender don't you think ...

Hey Bob, before the season even started, your initial forecast of 6/10ths not reviving the fortunes of the Scuderia to the likes of the Schumacher days......seems to be unfolding right before our very eyes. Michael's initiation to Ferrari in 1996 was with the F-310, a real pig of a car, not only in looks, but also in performance. Schumacher was able to build on that pig, and in time brought back Ferrari to unprecedented glory. Fernando introduction to the Scuderia was in a much....much more competitive car with the F-10, and what has he been able to do with it????

The worshitters were in heaven with the announcement of Fernando moving to Ferrari, and proclaiming that the 2010 WDC is already over, before the season ever started.......Well the season is a little more than half over, and 6/10ths is struggling and not dominating the way worshitters had proclaimed, with the coming of Fernando to the Scuderia.

It's so true Bob, how they disappear in the mist after the race is over....ha ha ha ha ha ha
