With the new regulations in place. Seems like Red Bull may be a wing down. With the lead they have can they still loose the championship with these regulations? Kinda feels like the ferrari era when the FIA was finding ways to change the dominance. Anyways good luck to all the teams, drivers and fans! lets see how this race shapes up!

New regulations being implemented at Silverstone this weekend, may help to de-fang, and remove some of the potency of that car from the drink company.

I doubt that the change in regs will be that noticeable here at the very first implementation. I still think that Red Bull's advantage has not diminished, but I might find myself being proven wrong and I might brace myself for the best race this season to-date !

Top 5

1. Vettel
2. Alonso
3. Webber

Webber, Vettel and Alonso were sandbagging at the 2nd practice. Massa confirmed the speed of the Ferrari. Lets see how Alonso, Massa and Schu fair out against the Blazin Bulls!

haha good luck everyone i have a hunch Red Bull is still gunna pull the usual. If they dont and the regulations really effect them I suspect a great battle for sunday.

i hope the regs do upset redbulls dominance if it doesnt it willbe a boring remainder of the season and in the schumi ferrari winning era the crys of boring will start if redbull wont default it further confirms teams will put there more resources into 012 cars thers to be no more rain for this race cause kulty heiki says so live inde pits

Don't you know that drinking more than 2 cans of Red Bull per day can adversely affect your brain function! You've been drinking atleast 25 cans of Red Bull every day 4 Mill while trying to urge your favourite Energy drinks team to more success!! You better stop drinking that shit before it kills you!! Dietrich Mateshitz won't care if you die aslong as you drink thousands of Red Bull drinks!!

On throttle diffussor blowing is still completely unrestricted and that's where Red Bull is strongest through the fast turns like at Silverstone.... If Ferrari does catch up in this race then it will be due to their seasons biggest update for Silverstone!.The Ferrari will be almost a completely new car with major upgrades in 1.Rear Suspension 2.Floor 3.Exhaust outlets 4.Rear end body work 5.Rear wing.

If Ferrari can beat Red Bull at Silverstone which is one of the best 2 tracks of the year for Red Bulls RB7,Then they will beat Red Bull anywhere!! and in other words,Even if Ferrari doesn't win at Silverstone they will win for the rest of the season if Ferrari stays close to the Bulls!

You better start panicking 4 Mil!!

Good to see another Aussie in F1 Daniel Ricciardo!(pronounced Ricardo)driving for the Spanish team miles behind. He's true Ferrari Material through and through! Daniel wouldn't even be anywhere near F1 if his Italian Father that immigrated to Australia wasn't a Ferrari fan that got his son interested in karting!! One day he'll come very close to being the ultimate Ferrari driver that Fernando Alonso is!

FORZA FERRARI!!!

Good quali from the 14 KG havier Webber. Obviously RBR is still loaded with tricks and managing their wings. RBR will nail all cars on harder tiers...will win the race...and the season more or less is nearly over (:

Indeed Sam...about Webba.People often forget or don't know in the first place that heavier drivers under the current regs are more limtited in getting more performance out of the car than shorter and lighter ones like Vettel and Massa.A lighter driver can produce better balance in a car with the use of specially placed heavy and compact Tungsten weights around the car which is called Ballast. In other words, with a minimum weight for car and driver combined set at 640kg,it means that a driver that is 14kg lighter has a 14kg advantage of moving 14kg of extra weight around a car to create a better and more balanced and faster set-up even though his combined weight of driver and car is the same as any driver on the grid. That's why Vettels car always has a different set up than Webbas.
Hence it is a fact than when a driver with a significant ballast disadvantge(Webba) beats a driver with a ballast advantage(Vettel) It's more impressive than the other way around...

Looks like the FIA will allow the off throtle diffusor blowing to continue till the end of the year because it's too diffucult to implement the ban under the current regs!! That's fine by me!! I wanna see Ferrari beat the Bulls with no ban on difuusor blowing!! hahaha

Go Ferrari!!

FORZA ALONSO!!!!!!!

Well said GFG explaining the weight disadvantage and setup...lets see if Vettel can catch him...and I agree with you that Ferrari is on the right track...slowly but surly...yes the ferrari Blown Confuser is not doing them any good but still managing to put a good fight if bad luck dose not strike at the same time...there is no way that all the energy and efforts ferrari is putting will just go into waste...one day it will surly payoff hopefully soooooon.
Enjoy watching the race...cheers

Very true indeed Sam!
"Blown Confusor" That is a true Gem Sam! hahaha:)).Bring on 2012 where the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on ridiculous Diffussor blowing and off throtle engine mapping, which is completely useless technology for the car industry, gets banned forever...:)) with new regs requiring that exhaust outlets are moved back to high above the Diffussor where they used to be!!Less aerodynamic inbred useless tech for the real world is a massive step forward for Formula One!

Back to Silverstone..Like I said in the my 1st post in this thread,Ferrari is in winning shape for the rest of the season Including the 1st race in Silverstone because we are so close to red Bull on perhaps the best circuit of the year that suits Red Bulls car characteristics of being super fast through high speed turns due to their downforce advantage enhanced with full throttle diffusor blowing through on-throttle flat out turns.

Enjoy the race no matter which driver or team you support!!:))

I'm looking forward to a good clean fight and may the best man Fernando Alonso win!! haha

That's Awesome Barry! I'm so happy for you that you'll be trackside and it's a privelige for us fans to hear from your trackside point of view!:)

I don't dissagree with the U-turn the FIA has done with allowing the off throttle engine mapping to continue after trying hopelessly to get it banned.Best and much less complicated to ban the blowy blowesome issues when the season is over!I'm happier to see Ferrari win without reg changes because the failed attempt to control off throtle engine mapping by the FIA wasn't an attempt to assist Ferrari in the 1st place!Ferrari has massive upgrades to the car and wasn't relying on an off throtle blowing reg ban to win as you will see...

ah finally the walk on water bloke wins a GP this season, but only thanks to the RBR crew screwing up Vetttel's pit stop ... now we sit back and watch as the worshitters overrun the forum ... poor bastards, i suppose we best give them their 5 minutes of glory, so far this season all they've been doing is licking thr wounds and crying like babies .. so ok great drive Fernando, well deserved victory ... really it all played well into Seb's hands that you were the one to win, in the end Vettel extends his lead in the championship ... not a bad day for the champion ... especially considering the FIA are trying everything possible to take away RBR's innovative advantages, seems Jean has moved over to the dark side, wonder what Mosterzemolo promised Todt to bring the field back to ferrari's level, rather than ferrari trying to get to the rest's level ...
