Thanks for reporting this article. It was a very solid opinion that favors Taylor in a good light. I believe that is something we need to do and embrace Taylor like he has to us fans. Whether the situation has gotten out of hand, it has not stemmed from Taylor. This is on Parcells and Sparano. Addition to that Taylor still remains positive and has love for Miami and the Dolphins. He's right though, Thomas should have not been released. You don't do that to legacy players, especially if they have another year or two left in the gas tank. Thanks again Dave!
Zach Thomas was thrilled that he was released from the Dolphins chithole. Heck, he took a big pay cut to go to a real team. Clearly,Jason Taylor would like the same.

Really, Tuna has made JT's trade value worse. What's this whole stink about? It's the Tuna smelling like 7 day old meat. Apparentely, loyalty means nothing anymore.
Great article, Dave!!! I'm with you 100%! GO PHINS!

Please explain...how is it on Parcells and Sparano? the only thing i've heard from them is that as far as he knew (sparano) JT would not be in camps...and so far he's been right...JT even said he's missing the first mandatory camp due to personal reasons...

Excellent Post Big Red!
Big Red wrote:
I don't get it. I saw Sparano on TV saying Taylor was contracted to playfor the Miami Dolphins and he also said all thesethings that he WASN'T gonna do. Among them, he wasn't gonna be in training camp.
This was a very misleading event. I took it to mean Parcells and company were sanctioning Taylor b/c he missed a voluntary event and maybe something else. What - I don't know. Now I get the feeling it was a prediction of sorts by the coach and FO about what they thought Taylor was gonna do based on THEIR interpretation of what they heard JT tell the media.
So then it was just BP, Sparano and Ireland posturing? For what reason.. Are they really that hot tempered? I have been on the Dolphins side of things b/c I think Taylors decision to do the DWTS program should have been something he did AFTER he retired. NOT in-between seasons.
I still feel that way but IMO two wrongs doesn't make a right and Dolphin management goofed by having Sparano PREDICT Taylor was going to go completely AWOL. I think all this boiled down to BP using the press and media to try and make JT look bad and now Taylor is using the media to defend himself and in essence turn the tables and make THEM look bad.
After further review: Touchdown Jason Taylor!!!
Go lick your wounds coach....And try to find an anger management course while yer at it.

Right On Dave!!!

People; look at what the man has done in the past.... let records speak for themselves. I say look at what he has done for the Dolphins, the NFL and the community. This guy comes to play every day and doesn't take time off during the game.

Huizenga should have pulled in the reins on Parcells... this is new leadership, I understand that but it is no secret to ANYONE who or what Taylor has done for the Phins, NFL and the community. NFL defensive player of the year, NFL Man of the year and 6 time Pro Bowl. Who has lost class Jason or the franchise???

The answer is more than obvious folks.

="hmmm"]The Dolphins should thank their lucky stars that JT was dancing with the stars.
It was some positive publicity for a team that couldn't have had worse during the season.
It reminded people that he was NFL man of the year.
If you believe one report, permission was given for the appearance before Tuna came.
They should be glad he made it to the finals, let him have his final round of talk show appearances and asked him to come in as soon as he returned.
Otherwise, all anyone would think of regarding the team was how bad they were last year.
This diffused the bad for a bit.
Sounds like Tuna's just upset that he got upstaged.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance and JT is not the player to make an example of.

No one cared about that stupid show except old housewipes.

Really.... boy have you been living under a rock. Taylor has been fully responsible for this by thinking he is more important than he really is. Just another out of touch prima donna for the stupid masses....like you as it sounds.

forget bp, or sparano, or anyone in the dolphins organization...right now, he hasn't shown me, as a fan, that he wants to play for my team...he hasn't shown up to voluntary work outs, while all the other veterans have, and it was reported, by him, that he would not be in mandatory minicamp due to personal reasons...

my love is for the dolphins...i'd love to have jt on the team...if he doesn't want to be here, I just hope thi fins get some value for him...

JinVA"]There are too many comments to even care, but Dave...you and "Fred" who everyone is jumping on the bandwagon with couldn't be farther from the truth. Its those of YOU who have no clue about building a GOOD program and resurecting this frachise from the bowels of Jet land.(he11)
If those of you JT apologists don't see the logic of a NEW regime establishing a NEW system and NEW attitude, and EXPECTING it's "team leader" to be there for EVERYTHING...then you need only look in the mirror while you're trying to figure out why this team has gone soft and can't compete anymore. Comparing this to Strahan is REDICULOUS. Strahan isn't the best player on that D anymore...Osi is. Eli is the "team leader" now.
When you're truly LEADING by example...you go above and beyond. Has JT done that in the past? Absolutely. Is he doing it now? Not even close.
Open your eyes guys...and think of the franchise first. I guarantee you the Tuna is. And JT sure as he11 isn't.

Well said- 90% of the posters would rather have the Fins kiss and play nice to apease them and remain down the latter in jet land. NO THANK YOU!

Time for hard ball with prima donnas. Look at what just happened in Denver.

I think all of the ones talking about Taylor should just STFU!! How many times has this man held out for more money, got into contract disputes, been a distraction for the team, or even been a bad character player......NEVER!! The guy did Dancing with the Stars, big deal!! Taylor has always been a great player a good character guy, he has learned several different defensive schemes in his 11 yrs., I don't think he will have a problem learning another one. The thing that got me was when he said "if a trade will help the Dolphins, I am open for it". That doesn't sound like a selfish man, it sounds like someone still wanting to help the team. I agree with Hyde, everyone should just get off of Taylors Back.

As much as I dislike players who put themselves above the TEAM in a team sport I can't bring myself to knock Taylor. Hyde is right(never said that before) and in all honesty I think Parcells is doing the right thing for the franchise by not setteling on a lowball offer. This team and us as fans have been setteling for to long and thats why we are where we are now.

Observant. Let's be real. He probably DOESN'T want to play for the Dolphins during another rebuilding, losing season. He probably doesn't want to be beaten down in training camp because Parcells wants to run camp a certain way. Let's not forget that the Dolphins have been trying to trade him since Parcells arrived. Can you blame JT? If I were the Dolphins I'd be kissing his butt and be happy if the guy reports at all.
