If you care about all-around excellence, then you'll take Polamalu in heartbeat. I'd like to see Reed rush the passer the way Polamalu does. Or leap over the line of scrimmage to stop a QB on fourth and inches. OCs have to game plan for Polamalu like no other defensive player, Reed included. No disrespect to Reed, though. He's unquestionably awesome. Reed doesn't play the same position as Troy. Reed couldn't do what troy does. he can't stop the run the way Troy does, he's not as quick as troy either. Reed is a ball hawk for sure but his career is on the downside and troy is peaking.

The Ravens will be tough to beat again this year. as our buddy rex pointed out, the biggest concern with the purple bird team is their O line. they may be better than good this year. they got Birk in FA and that is huge. Now the young QB has a pro bowl center and they have some big dudes next to him that played well last year and should play better this year. If we can win the battle on first down we can stop them but the key is to stuff the run and make flacco throw the ball. sounds easy. lol.

That's exactly what we need to do. Make Flacco throw. He's got a tough schedule anyway...we just need to convince him that we're the toughest defense he'll face this year...which shouldn't be tough...and he'll crumble. Make Flacco believe we're the toughest of the tough...which we are. :D

friends i thing flacco already knows it! look at his success against the steelers, he's 0-3 many interceptions, fumbles and sacks. the steelers defense has generally terrorized him. he has had a few good drive though and that speaks volumes about his potential.

That INT he threw to Polamalu was the result on continual physical harrassment by the Steeler D. When he saw Harrison barreling at him in his peripheral vision, he got rid of that ball pretty damn quick. He was getting tired of getting hit.
