1 If Jasper/Mike decided to work together at some point on television, I'd deem them - "Jasper, the friendly host". End transmission. |

2 Brinkley was the most important draft pick this year! |
||||
|
Hopefully Brinkley is a steal. He was projected as a first or second round pick until his injury. He has the right mind set of different personality on and off the field. Who does that remind me of....Ray Lewis! I remember Ray Lewis and teammates/friends saying that Lewis is a totally different person on the field compared to him off the field. So I wonder if he idolized Lewis and I wonder if he can play like him as well!

Solid pick, this guy will at least be a skull-cracker on special teams and will add much needed depth at LB. I liked the Loadholt pick, he should start at RT but who is going to be the Center for this unit? Could Cook actually play well enough at his former college position to start? Because when the Vikes picked him(too early), I assumed to learn behind Birk and eventually replace him. Any truth to that? Anyone? Except Jeebs that is......

THANKS YOU. Someone who gets it. I still remember last year, all the posters who promised that rookie free agent Kyle Wright (or John David Booty for that matter) would be the starter by year's end. Then there were those who said WR Darius Reynaud would be the second coming of Randy Moss. ...Kicker Steven Hauschka would out up more points than Peyton Manning. ...LB Erin Henderson would be starting alongside brother EJ by opening day, he was THAT good. . . . Bottom line, there is a reason why none of those players got drafted, and why others got drafted in later rounds - because all the collective scouting talent in the NFL agreed that they were LONG SHOTS to make the team, let alone be productive players anytime soon, if ever. People pay way too much attention to these players. History shows us that half of the first round picks won't even pan out, so I can't get too excited just yet for anyone drafted past the 3rd round. Notable exception: The one-in-a-million gem John Randle. Stud. |

Anyone saying Jasper can't play has either not seen him play or doesn't know a thing about football. The Vikings were very lucky to get him where they did. He would have been at least 3rd round if he came out after his junior year. He instead decided to stay for his senior year to play another with his twin brother and shoot for the first round where many had him projected. Unfortunately, he tore his knee up versus LSU early in his senior season. Like the article says, he gained some weight and lost some speed. He still had a great season regardless. He is now back down around his playing weight and has his speed back. He has a nose for the football and plays smart but vicious. Vicking fans will absolutely love the guy before long.

Brinkley didnt make much of an impact in his bowl game. Was he hurt?

unbelievable !!!....that CHILI is so sly and a miracle worker...how does he do it....the Vikes are the only team in the NFL drafting guys in the fifth round who should have gone in the first round ....the other 31 teams who scouted the guy and passed on him for 4 rounds and part of the fifth (til the vikes drafted him)know nothing about talent.... It's only that staff over there at Winter Park that knows all....it's funny how they try to sell all these draft picks to us...some of us don't fall for that c.r.a.p |

1 Ya thats what they said about Tom Brady. While i know not everyone, or anyone, will be as good and successful as Brady, this kid has potential, so give him a chance. |

Wow, some of you people are pretty non-intelligent. Some of you are putting words in our mouths. No one here really said that the Vikings draft was the best. Where ever you guys are reading that must be the R-E-T-A-R-D chronicles. I mean look at the person called himself 'Truth Hurts' his post was just as D-u-m-b as a childish act. If you really read the article and know that articles don't make things up like he could have been a first or second round pick if he never got injured to what the scouting report said and that is why teams past on him. Joe The D-U-M-B-man wrote "Jasper was projected to be a 1st or 2nd round pick until scouts learned he couldn't play football." I have seen some of his videos on youtube and he does look like he can play and hit hard. So why don't you non-faith people go check that out. I am not saying he is going to be great but like Beast182 wrote "this kid has potential, so give him a chance." Potential means he can be good not saying he will be good. The people that said JDB will start at the end of the season are not T-Jack fans obviously and I don't know why people would think Kyle Wright would do anything! Erin Henderson made the team like I inspected and I didn't inspect him to start over the veterans that the Vikings have.
