Well, now that David Carr has been signed, it looks like we will be taking Russell or Quinn...most likely Russell

John Clayton just reported that he wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders Drafted CJ and picked up QB Trent Edwards with the 1st 2nd round pick....

IF THIS GOES DOWN WILL BE TAKING CALVIN JOHNSON!! THIS WAS TAKEN FROM ESPN INSIDER JOHN CLAYTON!!!The Raiders have zeroed in on a veteran quarterback they would like to acquire while they ponder the possibility of drafting LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

Oakland has entered into trade negotiations with Lions backup quarterback Josh McCown, who signed with Detroit last season with the idea of being a starter, but he lost his job early to Jon Kitna. Instead of pouting and sulking, though, McCown was a model teammate to a point where he helped out when the Lions needed someone to run some wide receiver routes.

The Raiders have only Andrew Walter and Josh Booty as their main options at quarterback. McCown fits because he's had starting experience and he's mobile in the pocket. Plus, he has a strong arm for downfield throws."Josh signed with the Lions and wanted to play," his agent, Mike McCartney, said."He deserves to play."

McCown is in the final year of a two-year contract and scheduled to earn $2 million this season. While other teams might be interested in considering him as a backup, McCown is definitely interested in the chance of going to the Raiders. If the Raiders acquire him, it would take the pressure off playing Russell early in the 2007 season. BUT I THINK ITS A REASON TO GRAB JOHNSON IN MY BOOK!!! I HOPE!!! HES LIKE T.O AND MOSS IN ONE!!

If we get CJ let's hope he is nothing like TO and Moss...Let's hope he shuts up and plays....I would prefer he be like a Ronald Curry...with all the intagibles....

That's right. We need somebody that will follow the example that Tim Brown set for the longest time...shut up and play...Ronald Curry is doing the best at following it...If we get CJ, hopefully he will do the same

Potential is an ugly word...thats what JR has...I hope if we get JR he turns out ok, talent in college doesn't always translate to the pro's. I would rather us trade for a proven vet, but there aren't any starters available, McCown will be a good teacher for JR but aside from him there are only back ups..God help us if we go after Cul-peter... talk about a back up....
