I saw them in Chicago on opening night and am going to see them next week in Vegas, but was curious as to how it played at the new stadium. Was the huge monitors of the stadium a distraction, the stage being so large it sits better in an open air arena that way those in the nose bleeds don't have to worry about an even more obstructed view or sound as you put it.
PS: Thanks for the A.I. mention. There are a few of us locally who work various shows for AI and it takes a lot of hard work to coordinate something like this on such a large scale. Glad to see our message is getting across. |

Well. Here I yam, reviewing headlines on my daily report from back home at the Times. I see a concert review about U2. I think, "Well shoot, it's about time El Paso/Las Cruces got something stronger than the usual "T'oyz 'r' Us" and "Los Cacomixtles de la Barranca Acerca de Creel."
Then, I read that it's a review about an event...500 MILES AWAY, IN DALLAS. Holy cow, how very, very pathetic. But that's "unique El Paso Lithium Culture," I guess. How pathetic. Glad I left, glad I'm gone, won't be seein' you later. |

I was in C136 and agree that the sound was very good there -- no problem understanding Bono. After every concert at the new stadium, there's a lot of noise about how bad the acoustics are. Just had a news story on abouot 3 people trying to get their money back. I feel sorry for those above the 2nd level. I think the obnoxious drunks behind you were in front of me. I hate those that drink so much that they're pushing by you during VERTIGO to get to the washroom or get more beer!

I was at the Dallas show (on the floor). And I have to agree that the sound was the WORST I'd ever heard at any show. I think even Bono was pissed at the poor quality - during the last song he ripped his earpiece out and ran to the speakers to talk to one of the sound/stage crew.
I have to disagree about the lack of intimacy in a U2 stadium show - I was at the two Chicago shows and they were close intimate shows. JerryLand aka the new Dallas stadium sucks it's a horrible venue for any music event especially a U2 show. |

Was in the VIP Club Section and the sound wasnt up to parr. They didnt even turn on the big screens, which would of made it a one of a kind show but Live Nation doesnt own it, JJ does. Muse Rocked and U2 was U2.
