I guess that's why we have such a great abd diverse country. We can live anywhere we want and find a climate or terrain we like.

Some like the desert. Some like the Pacific Northwest. I happen to love New England. I love living in a state with only 600,000 people. I love not having to lock my doors. I love seeing the wildlife like the moose that walks past the house sometimes. I love autumn. The colors when at peak are like the hills and valleys are on fire! I like the covered bridges around here. I like the fact the older homes are not torn down for McMansions.

I like going to the local general store for milk and if necessary, a rake. And put it on the "tab".

I like the fact nobody cares what kind of car you drive. Nobody's impressed very easily.

And nowhere can compare to a walk on a snowy December evening and smelling woodsmoke in the air, knowing families are around the hearth.

I love my woodstove. Nothing heats like wood!

I love going out into the woods and cutting our own Christmas Tree. Finding that "perfect" tree to decorate. Sorry, but I just can't wrap my mind around a decorated palm tree.

And believe it or not, the absolute beauty of the aftermath of a winter storm when all is quiet. The sun comes out the next morning, the sky is a magnificent shade of blue, and the world is covered in a blanket of sheer beauty. You look out and see an old red barn contrasting with the white snow. The snow is on the branches of the trees and the beauty is amazing. You go out and see tracks of animals that were scurrying around. Foxes, deer, rabbits, etc.

So yes, we can live anywhere we want in this glorious country of ours. It's called FREEDOM, and ain't it grand?

Great response, make a lot of sense...NOT!
We have hurricanes: I was living on the beach for Andrew, one of the most powerful and destructive storms of all time. The building I live in was built to withstand such punishment and we were up and running within hours afterwards. It was a mess and it took a while to completely recover, but these events are relatively rare and we usually go years without a serious storm hitting us. We can see it coming and get out of the way if need be. In 2004 and 2005 we had a series of them like never before, and that was a bit stressful. The only one that really effected us at that time in the Miami area was Wilma, which was minimal and was a minor inconvenience. There's been nothing since. So, what are you talking about?
Here in Vermont we have to watch for flying Volvo's with
a drunk driver behind the wheel. In Florida I guess you just have to watch for flying Volvo's.

But in Florida the driver of that Volvo is 103 years old.

For your information, South Florida is no longer God's waiting room. Don't you get CSI Miami in them pah'ts? It's an international destination from all corners of the globe. Perhaps if you ever bothered to venture past the city limits of your tiny village you'd know better. I've lived in "New England", many other parts of our great nation as well as outside of it and I wouldn't trade where I am now for all the maple syrup in Vermont. A 2007 survey claimed that Vermonters were the least satisfied with their job in the nation and were the most likely to be making plans to leave. Fact is, the aging population will further bolster the growing geriatric health care industry, so there should be some employment opportunities in this field and hopefully reasons to stick it out. I'm glad you're happy, so please stay where you are. We don't need anymore of you pale people driving around, gawking at palm trees; they're the ones you have to watch out for! Matt Cassel rented a nearby condo after last season and I saw him a few times jogging during my morning walks on the beach. Tom Brady suppossedly purchased something in South Pointe. The Dolphins are up in your neck of the woods right now for tomorrow's game. It's doubtful they can run the wildcat down their throats like they did last year in that embarrassing loss at home. The fans stah'ted leavin' in the thi'd quah'teh...lol...Should be interesting.

I don't get it. So you love Florida? So What? Like I said in a previous post, people love the Midwest. people love th ePacific Northwest. Again. SO WHAT? If you love Florida, goody for you! I love New England. And yes, I have also lived in other parts of the country as well as spending a year in Southeast Asia. I LIKE my little town. I LIKE my little school. I LIKE knowing everybody. SO WHAT?

You can prattle on all you want about Florida. However, Burlington, VT has been named one of the top places to live in the USA many, many times. Multiple times it's number one on the Travel Channel list. But again, SO WHAT?

So if you love Florida, then live in Florida! I DON'T like Florida! And that's what's makes this such a great country. You, as well as I, can live wherever we want.

And I don't understand "pah'ts". We in Vermont don't talk like that. And yes, I do get lots of channels on my satellite dish. I just don't watch the garbage the networks put out. I have never watched one episode of CSI. But I hear there's gonna be a new version. CSI Des Moines.

So like I said, enjoy your life in Florida and I will enjoy mine in Vermont. Oh, and by the way, I LOVE what I do for a living!

Maybe if you had a sense of humor you would realize that I am just messing with you. I hate that CSI garbage too,(and I'm with you as far as most network programing goes for that matter), but if you ever bothered to watch it you'd see what I mean. Twenty years ago, the crumbling art deco buildings on South Beach were basically warehouses for the elerly who would sit out front in white plastic chairs waiting to die. Last night I met a client in one just like that, except that it has been transformed into a hip boutique hotel with a cool bar in the lobby; not a geriatric person in sight, but we're constantly inundated with bus loads of tourists who have no clue as to where they are going. They are what this place thrives on, so there's a love/hate relationship. And I agree with you, I don't like Florida either for the most part, except for where I live. The rest of it is culturally bankrupt. I was recently in Tampa for example and I couldn't wait to get the hell out. They still fly the confederate flag up there and the population is mostly rather unsophiticated to say the least. Vermont is a beautiful place, and I have been there quite a few times. Don't tell me there's no accent, because I graduated from schools in Connecticut and Massachusettes and have traveled extensively in Maine, New Hampshire and thoughout the regoin. There are variations, but you all have some kind of inflection. But I was referring to the Bostonian manner of speaking: Hah'vahd Yah'd and pah'k yah'cah and my personal favorite: "He had a heah't attack, a cah'diac infah'ction..." I expect the Patriots to wipe the floor with the Dolphins this afternoon and I put my money on the Brady bunch, by the way. I was never much of a Dolphins fan, but I do go to the games when I can. My Giants are sort of lousy at the moment and I think they could very well get beat by San Diego today. What I'm trying to say is that it's all in fun and there is no need to take me so seriously. Incidentlally, I was born in Iowa and lived in Des Moines until I was about 10 years old. I remember thinking at an early age that there are places where it's always warm. I saw it on TV, afterall. I vacationed with my family in Miami Beach when I was 12 and I remember thinking to myself that someday I will live here. Funny how things work out...

My brother just retired as a rocket scientist at Cape Canaveral. He loves Florida as he's lived at the Cape since the mid 60's. He loves the heat, I cannot take the heat. When it's 60 degrees outside he's wearing a sock hat and gloves. And when it's 80 degrees outside I'm sweltering.

We live in the greatest country in the history of the world and we can enjoy the freedom to live wherever we choose, right?

One gets acclimated to cimate down here, and I hate it when the temps drop in the winter months. Right now it's windy and a bit chilly in the morning. A week ago yesterday I was swimming in the ocean and it was in the high 80s.

Hopefully, the freedom to live where we want will not be taken away.

At least they made a game out of it until the 4th qtr. They looked way better than most of the other teams the Patriots beat, especially the last couple of weeks. The running game works well, but without a solid pass attack, they can't compete with those that do. Look out if they manage to fix this problem.

The Phins are about 2 or 3 years away from becoming a power, that's when Parcells usually completes the turnaround.

That's right! The TUNA is in charge! He will indeed turn things around, just like he did with the Giants, The Patriots, the Jets, and the Cowboys.

Spy Film shows he hasnt won a Super Bowl since 1990. He must be on a 30 year plan.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Aries

Be very wary about mixing love and money today, because they could curdle and leave a nasty taste in your mouth. Someone might rip you off, or so it seems to you. And 'seems' is the operative word because, with the Moon in sensitive Cancer, you're very subjective and emotional, strongly influenced by your feelings. There is also a chance that someone you trust is playing fast and loose with your heart, although you won't be certain of that just yet.
